What do you eat on workout days?
Just curious :) Just bigger portions of what you already eat? Or something that aids muscle building? Or do you treat yourself to a guilty pleasure that would have otherwise occupied too many calories? (sorry if this is in the wrong forum btw)

How to break sugar addiction?
I started my "diet" early this year like so many, resolving to loose weight. I had been doing really great up until late this week. But now everything with sugar is calling my name! From the beginning, I wanted to make this a positive experience so I would stick with it. I cut way back on soda (I'm drinking 1 mini-can -…

White Hair Streak
I have a white reoccurring hair that continues to appear smack dab in the front middle of my head! I don't think it is my hair going gray. It is a totally different texture then the rest of my hair, very course and almost doesn't even feel like a strand of hair. Anyone experience this? I'll bring this up with the next I am…

Difficult time understanding caloric requirement
Hello folks. I'm getting serious about my fitness goals and needed a place to track my calories and macronutrient requirements. Based on my needs i ended with LoseIt or MFP. I noticed that they both give different caloric need requirements and differ by 400 calories. I made sure i entered the same data in both apps but I…

A whole day's food
Ok, Lovely People. Advice Needed. So, due to stupid landlords and stupid tenancy agreements I have had to move out of the not only lovely but also incredibly convenient house I DID have 10 minuted walk from uni and have had to move home, 50 miles away. I only need to go in on a Monday and Wednesday, so it’s not as bad as…

Lesser of the two evils......???
If you absolutely had to pick........- no time, didn't prepare, nothing at the store, nothing in the car, on the road- whatever excuse you can think of- ................ would you grab something quick from a fast food restaurant OR eat a Lean Cuisine frozen meal? For Vegetarians and Vegans. Shocking!
The question came up in the Happy Herbivore group of what foods may have hidden animal products. I took a minute to google it and found some really surprising things. Orange Juice with sheep fat in it, red candies colored with crushed beetles, gelatin in peanuts! Um freaked out! Here is one of the links.…

Banana Chips Slice banana into thin chips, dip in lemon juice, and spread on a cookie sheet. Bake for 2 hours @ 200 degrees and flip. Bake for another 1.5-2 hours or until crisp. (They won’t be totally crisp in the oven, but will harden as they cool) IMPORTANT STEP: Spray the cookie sheet with PAM otherwise you will get…

For a french fry addict like myself!
I have to admit, I was SUPER skeptical when my friend passed along this hungry-girl.com recipe but now that I've tried it I AM TELLING EVERYONE!!! They are SO GOOD! It has a tiny bit of a sweet taste so I would say they taste a bit more like sweet potato fries than regular fries but WHATEVER at 65 calories per serving I'm…

Herbalife? Should I shoot for 100g of protein each day?
Just wondering if anyone uses this brand. I have lost 52lbs all on my own so far in 11 months and 70 overall, no gimics, just lower calorie and vigorous workouts, but I tried one of their smoothies and was shown some stuff, and I was thinking about maybe doing their fitness drink in the morning, it has I think 24g of…

BMR
Having used various calculators to work out my BMR, they have varied immensely. So far, I've had answers at 1394, 1774, 1450, 1485 and 1634. Which one do I trust? And why do they vary so much?! Should I just work out an average? And same with TDEE as they also vary hugely? Any advice would be appreciated.

Nutritional Information Change in Dough Inquiry
I know that there is a large difference in nutritional information from raw vs. baked fish, and I was curious to know if there is a change in nutritional information of dough when it is baked into bread? Is there no change at all? Or is it very insignificant? I want to start making my own whole wheat bread, and I want to…

Calorie counts wildly misleading
Think you know how many calories are in what you eat? Think again, it turns out the UK doesn't count calories from fibre and the formula for protein may be over-estimating by around 20%. There's also no account taken for the difference between cooked and raw foods, 10-30% more in cooked foods (less effort required to break…

Supposed 'healthy' foods that are loaded with sugar/salt?
I am always surprised by the amount of foods on supermarket shelves marketed as 'healthy' but contain masses of sugar and salt!?
