What's Your Salad?
Been eating salads for lunch daily because the calories are low, but now that winter is here I find the raw veggies, well just too cold. So I have been grilling peppers, onions, cauliflower, snap peas, jalapeno and zucchini to put on top of my spinash...is this just as healthy as raw veggies? Sometimes I add some deli…

The Lovely Keurig Coffee Machine...
So awhile back, dad got mom a Keurig coffee maker for Christmas. It's one of the K-Cup models, dunno which though. Basically there is a tank of water that you can refill when needed, and you have little cups with coffee grounds in them that you put in the coffee make and then press the handle down, which punches a hole in…

Vegetarians - Vitamins & Protein Supplements?
Hi There, I'm a vegetarian, full-time engineering student that works 24 hours/week (overnights) and for the past month I've been working out 5 days a week (Mon-Fri). This is new of course, and I feel like my little multivitamins aren't doing what they should be. Currently I take 2 Pomology Womens Multivitamin per morning…

1200 calories = more likely to have problems?
Has anyone else noticed that most of the "I have a problem..." threads are started by those with a 1200 calorie daily limit? Especially the "I can't stop snacking" and "I'm so hungry!" threads. Coincidence? Something to consider if you're currently struggling at 1200 calories? Or am I just imagining this?

Brown Sugar

Protein Needs?
I've seen that a person should be eating 1 g of protein per pound of body weight. Is this just for people that are doing weight training? Right now I'm just trying to lose weight via "diet" and cardio 3-4 times per week, then I plan on working in some weight training when I get to my goal weight. I average about half a…

Bottomless pit day...
I'm so hungry! Someone please check out my diary to tell me where how to fix this problem as I have it often. And yes, I know cheese curls are a crappy choice - I tend to make bad choices when I'm hungry and that's why I need to fix it.

question about gout
Wasn't really sure which section to ask this question in, so excuse me if it seems the wrong forum board for this. I have had gout before and the doctor prescribed naprosan, a drug to get rid of the uric acid crystal causing the pain. But as there is a 2 week waiting list to see a doctor where I am I was wondering for any…

I don't like tuna...
I've never really cared for tuna. My mom would mix it with mayo and put it on bread. But I thought I would go ahead and try the packaged lemon zest tuna, and I still dont really care for it. It's better than plain, whats a way I can try to jazz it up a little?

Oatmeal
What's the nutritional difference between steel-cut, old fashioned, and instant? I know some of the flavored instant oatmeal has a lot more sugar, obviously, but otherwise, is steel-cut better for you or is it preferred because it's more natural or what? Or do you just enjoy the texture more? Thanks.

Kefir Yogurt for Weight Loss?

A Good Gluten Free Bread?
I've been gluten free now for a few years and I have pretty much stayed away from gluten-free substitutes. Anyone read Allen Carr's Easy Weigh To Lose Weight?
I read it a few years ago and it was an eye opening read. I lost weight and even though I loved meat I ended up a vegetarian for a while after reading it. It talks about what we put in our bodies and how we digest food, it's not full of lectures and scare stories and it doesn't tell you what to eat- it simply gives you the…
