Flavoured tea while fasting
Hi. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about drinking flavoured tea during a fasting period. I know I can drink normal tea and coffee without any milk or sugar/sweetener. I have googled it but its a bit of a grey area. I start my fast at 8pm and that lasts until 12pm. This is helpful for me because of when my lunch…

What We're Eating
Autumn has fully arrived and I'm cooking about it. Breakfast: toaster waffles with yogurt butter and syrup, fried ham, coffee. Lunch: leftover chili with cheese, sour cream, and a few corn chips. I'm having a fairly small portion of this (it's... not at all "light"), so if I'm still hungry I'll have some broccoli, baby…

New Toy (kitchen scale)
When I started on MFP, there was an old spring action kitchen scale handy, left behind by my late wife I betieve. However, it was quite small and had a tiny tray on top. I'd often balance a dish precariously on the little tray, check the weight, add some food, and subtract. Of course this eventually toppled everything, the…

Is there a separate meal plan builder that I can use in addition to my food journal?
When I'm meal prepping and planning my meals, I use the diary ahead of time to plan out my days when possible. But what I'm looking for is an app or website that will let me build a meal plan for a week, moving things around and making changes as needed before committing them to my food diary. I can do this on a…

Is a low calorie diet good for a long time?
I had some not so great health news back at the beginning of May this year. It made me kick start getting fitter and healthier. I was over 15st and my BMI was over 32. I had high cholesterol, high blood pressure and high blood sugars and was told I was prediabetic and very close to diabetic. I have to go back for retests…

What's your favorite energy drink?
Because I'm at work long hours and I don't eat when I'm there, I tend to just chug an energy drink just to keep myself satiated. I normally have a Reign Cherry Lemonade at work, although I'll have Prime Tropical Punch as well. Others I'll drink for variety: Ghost- Sour Candy (taste like sour gummy bears) ON Amino energy-…

PROTEIN protein PROTEIN...
I seem to come across a lot of MFPers who are super-big on protein. I'm okay with this, since I like meat (chicken, fish, venison) and actually enjoy the taste of protein shakes. My question: Is too much protein really bad? I'm sure it is in excess (excess being a hella a lot).. But what if you go over your daily limit…

Meal prep.
I would like to start meal prepping as when I use to I did better then when nothing was prepped. I would just heat my meals up but I found when nothing was prepped I would just microwave a frozen meal or pizzas which for me with high blood pressure is not good for me. But I find after a few meal preps I stop. For those who…

Calories Don't Match Package Weight
Has anyone else come across a food item that has calories listed per serving and per package, where the calorie total listed for the total package doesn't match the package net weight? (Reading back over that, it sounds garbled. Maybe an example would explain my question better.) Package net weight is: 70g Per serving…

No calories per gram option.
I am new to myfitnesspal, so apologies if I have missed something. When adding food items to my diary, there does not seem to be an option for calories per gram. For example, if I search for avocado, it shows me a large, medium, half a cup, boiled, etc etc but no simple option of per gram there are 2 calories - or least…

Iron tablets and gaining weight

Intermittend fasting vs. proteins supply
I started interval/intermittend fasting before my vacation. 12/12 - the easy start, although perhaps I do not make it quite so simple, because I put the 12 hours without food on the day - as a rule, it should be the night. Effectively, that leaves me with two meals. How do I get enough protein? My problem is - that despite…
