However today I feel rubbish and have no appetite at all. I suspect I am getting a bug that has been doing the rounds. Will I slip into starvation…

Potbelly Sandwiches and stuff...
I made the mistake today of having Potbelly. Don't get me wrong they are tasty however they are so not worth the calories and the salt content. One oatmeal chocolate chip cookie was 450 calories with 39g of sugar. It was tasty, but not that tasty. Their sandwiches are not that great either. The Italian sub has about…

great article explaining sugars & fruit
What Sweetener Should You Choose? Sugar? Honey? Agave Nectar? "Don’t assume that a cookie or soft drink made with raw sugar or agave nectar or something else “natural” is healthful. Organic junk is still junk. I don’t care if it’s a cookie made with USDA-certified organic evaporated cane juice plowed under a Fair Trade…

I eat a lot of peanut butter but I'm a bit confused about the portion sizes >.<" I read somewhere that two tablespoons is 170 calories and the size of your thumb. But I used a measuring spoon and the size of my thumb is only one tablespoon... Do I just have smaller thumbs than the average person? Sorry if my…

Any foods that you think have gotten a bad rap??
Are there any foods that you think have gotten an unnecessary bad rap? For me: Egg yolk: The egg yolk is the most nutrient packed part of the egg, and it seems silly to separate the best part and toss it away. Moderation is in order, but don't dismiss the benefits of a good old fashioned egg (and tossing it is waseful!). I…

The following link will take you to change.org and you will be able to sign a petition to stop the marketing claims that are being used to…

scary side of protein powder
according to my doctor it is really unhealthy for you...because it's already granulated so your body absorbs more of it and faster...causing your body to build "flimsy" muscle...any thoughts on this?

Share your portion control tricks.....
For big bags of things (nuts, chips, crackers, etc) I use my food saver to portion them out. :) Then I can grab a little pack and know that it's one serving, without the temptation of having the entire big bag or canister available. lol

Net Calories vs Calories Eaten...
So I just found this site today (but i am not new to calorie counting) and have had a looming question for some time now. What are you actually supposed to listen to? When other people prepare your food...
I live with my grandparents, and my grandma likes to cook everything in oil. She normally makes dinner, and the rest of the day I am on my own. How can I ask her not to cook everything in oil, without seeming like I'm not grateful for her cooking? Also, I want to try some new recipes for dinner, but my grandparents…
