Club soda is my friend!
I've been trying to watch my sugar, but every so often, I want something sweet to drink. I try not to eat or drink anything with artificial sweeteners, so I have to be creative. I've discovered that mixing fruit juice or soda (Dr. Pepper's my favorite) with club soda not only cuts the drink's sugar by half, it's light and…

Vinegar instead of Salt on Veggies
I've been enjoying eating raw veggies, but I have missed the 'zing' that salt gives them. This morning I sprayed my clean raw grape tomatoes with Vinegar (which I use to clean raw veggies to get bacteria off of it) And didn't rinse it off. I brought it to work and just that spritz of vinegar from a spray bottle is plenty…

SUGAR Info
Regarding tracking your sugar intake: I am often WAY over in grams of sugar per day (from milk, fruit, cottage cheese, maybe the odd candy lol) but almost always within my caloric allowance. Does this mean I am still on the right track or am I slowing down the process by eating too much sugar? Is it just about calories?…

Seaweed/Sea Vegetables Benefits
I've always loved my sea vegetables as it is a part of Chinese cuisine and has quite a subtle, tasty flavor if prepared correctly or even eaten by itself. The kind of sea vegetable that people are probably most familiar with is nori (the seaweed used in the making of sushi). But there are many other kinds the most…

A First for me!
I made Jell-O for the first time in my life today!!  It's never been my favorite treat, but my mom makes this lime Jell-O with grated carrots, raisins, crushed pineapple, and walnuts or slivered almonds--we always teased her about that dish. But I made it tonight (minus the pineapple) for lunch tomorrow…

Nutritional Information
I've been buying a lot of fish from Sam's Club recently to help get my protein levels up. The fish that I seem to gravitate around is Treasures of the Sea - Boneless, Skinless Flounder. The thing is, the nutritional information says 4oz is a serving. I assumed this was weight per fillet, as, frozen they are basically 4oz…

salmon
I'm not a fish eater, but I just read an article on MSN listing salmon as one of seven foods every woman must eat, and the picture looked pretty darn good. So maybe I'll try it.....question is, how do you buy it? Does it come packaged up in the meat section (seriously, I've never bought fish except tuna in a can). Is it…

Breyers Low-Carb Ice Cream
I tried this the other day - chocolate covered ice cream on a stick. Ugh the artificial sugar in them gave me a massive headache and stomache. I had to try them a couple of times to make sure the ice cream was the culprit. If you are sensitive to artificial sweetners STAY AWAY.
