New to MFP and question about the ticker
I am confused! I went to setting and turned on the ticker for my posts. Then I clicked on the link in the "How to format your posts" post about customizing a ticker but the links just take me to my home page. What am I doing wrong? Thank you in advance.

Polar ft7 HRM calories burned overestimation?
Hi all! I'm new to MFP today and to kick start my journey decided to buy a Polar FT7 HRM. I went for a little walk to work and back today, nothing amazing (18mins there, 18mins back) and decided to test out the HRM along side the RunKeeper app. I'm aware that ultimately any method of tracking or calculating calories burned…

Need help with getting this diet on the go
So I started here less than a month or so ago. I went from 308 to 280 lbs in an amazing time. But since then my weight has been fluctuating, bouncing between 285, 283, 284, 280 etc. I asked around and was told that because I was regularly missing my goal of 1950 calories per day my body was panicking and storing fat while…

Sodium?
I'm in the UK at the moment, and all the food labels don't contain Sodium on the Nutritional labelling area. Is sodium salt (we use 'g' here, instead of 'mg'), or something else?

Net Calories Consumed / Day - is this right?
I seem to remember calculating my basal metabolic rate and resting mr, and I came to the conclusion that maintaining my weight would be somewhere between 1800-1900 calories, however, this thing claims I can eat 2060 a day and lose 1/2 lb a week. Doesn't sound right to me. When I was losing weight the year before last, I…

What should my goal calories a day be?
I'm trying get get healthier (and also want to loose a few kgs). MFP suggested 1,440 kcal a day but I still feel hungry on this and it is a lot less than I was eating before (I estimate I used to eat at least 2000 kcal a day if not more). I'm usually under/on my kcal goal and will go over when hiking. Is there a way to…

HRM or Pedometer?
I've seen it floating through the forums that a HRM would be better than a pedometer for tracking steps for walking. Is this true? If yes, are there particular ones that you recommend over others? I have a limited budget but I'd like to get something that can accurately track time of walk, steps, and calories burned.…

Interesting Dilemma
This morning at 9:00 I ate 1.5 cups of oatmeal to which I added 1 tablespoon of flaxseed, and I had 4 cups of water. Lunch was supposed to be at 1:00 but I was still quite full from breakfast. At 3:15 I ate a 4oz cup of diced pears in 100% fruit juice. This is all I've eaten. My belly feels too full. How do you get your…

Motivation-That (to some) dreaded word
Two years ago I was able to lose about 40 lbs with MFP. I considered it a huge accomplishment and I still do. It changed my life. But as the years wore on and my bf's cooking got more irresistible I have found that I am up almost 20lbs. I am trying not to be discouraged. I love my life and where I am at in it. But after a…
