Howdy. I'm 38, and I've been doing MFP for years, off and on. After having my kids (they're 16 and 13), I jumped from my normal size 12 (about 160 lbs): To about 220 and a size 22: I stayed there for a good long while, but then used MFP to drop back to 150 lbs in a size 10: However, I started new meds and got into a car…

Weekly goal not updating automatically with weight change
Recently, when my Current Weight reached my Goal Weight, the Weekly Goal setting automatically (and logically and correctly) switched from "Lose x kg per week" to "Maintain Weight". However, on recent weigh-ins my current weight has crept up to a kilo above my Goal Weight, but the Weekly Goal did not automatically switch…

I have failed
The pandemic was very good to me - no stress, no classes to teach or events to lead in person, no socializing with friends (which invariably means either eating a meal out or going to an event that includes food). Left home alone most of the time, I could control every bite that went into my mouth and I did great. In the…

My Experience With Maintenance
I've been struggling with maintenance for a few years now. I've yet to see a "program" that gives you the tools to succeed in maintaining weight long term. Over the past year, I've gone up a few pounds then down again a couple of times. I need to stay at the lower end of the range to stay healthy -- I have a few conditions…

Maintenance over Christmas
I've been attempting to maintain over the last 2 months as I got Covid and just felt so poorly I couldn't think about what I was eating. I just ate what I could stomach and counted the calories. It turned out I was eating approximately maintenance calories so I have been trying to stick to that. I'm recovered now - but its…

Making it easy.
Avoid Caffeine, Nicotine, Alcohol, Salt and Sugar. These substances affect no only your health but your state of mind. The substance with the most effect on dieting and appetite is sugar. Four days with no sugar starts to kill cravings and suppresses appetite. Even a small amount of sugar puts your appetite in high gear.…

Putting things in place now for maintenance
I’ve just started my 4th attempt at losing and maintaining. Each year I lose around 10kgs and almost reach my goal weight, then something in my mindset does a complete 180 and I stop everything. Dropping dress sizes too quickly...
