Fruit sugars and maintaining weight?
Hi, I eat lots of fruit daily and it takes my sugar amount well over my amount daily. Will this cause weight gain as I'm trying to maintain the weight I'm at. The problem is I love fruit and never eat any chocolate, cake, biscuits or sweet foods. Thankyou 😊

Successfully maintaining but always hungry
After losing 35kg to go from a BMI of 34 to a BMI of 20.5, I have been successfully maintaining my new weight since February (4 months ago). Since reaching my goal, I have continued tracking everything I eat and have decided on a strategy of maintaining a small deficit most days so I can have a cheat day once a week or on…

Maintenance transition
Hi, All - I started my weight loss journey in January, 2020. I have lost 95lbs and finally got into a normal BMI range. Three weeks ago I switched my weight loss goal from a pound a week to half a pound a week. Other than increasing my overall calorie intake, I have done everything the exact same, including my exercise…

Question for a new maintainer re: calories.
Hi everyone, I hope you're doing well. I have just hit my goal weight (5'2" and 130 lbs.) and am trying to maintain (yay!). I've been eating 1,200 calories per day to lose weight, and MFP recommends eating 1,600 calories to maintain my current weight. My question: Do I just go straight to 1,600 calories, or should I…

Injured Runner, Worried about Weight Gain
Just looking for some general support or hopefully shared experiences here. Hopefully this is the right sub-forum for this. I’m in full-on pity party mode…I know it’s not the end of the world, but I’m worried and I guess I’m in need of a little advice. I’ve maintained a 100-lb weight loss for two years. Still have about 15…

Correct daily calorie intake
I’m new to maintaining weight. I’ve lost about 120lbs over the last year and have only recently started using MFP again. I’m a runner and when it’s not rainy season, I run 5.25 miles 4-6 days a week and throw in a 10+ mile about once every 2 weeks. My main question is, MFP shows that I need 2,990 calories to maintain my…

Unknown reason for weight gain
Hi everybody.. How do I determine if my weight gain is new muscle or fat? My diet, calorie intake and exercise routine has been the same for 2 yrs and my weight has remained the same for the same time. However, since June to the present, I've gained a total of 7 lbs. I weight lift 3x/week, stretch & planks 3x/wk, and bike…

You lost weight & have maintained it. Did you focus on healthier foods or just restrict calories????
I know exercise is a huge part of maintaining weight loss, but how have you had to change your diet? Do you eat less the same foods or did you focus on eating healthier, more nutritious foods?

Eating at goal weight maintenance to reach goal weight
Hi. I’m currently losing weight following a very restrictive calorie deficit. I appreciate this is controversial and really don’t won’t to go into that discussion if it can be avoided when answering my question. I’m coming to the end of this phase and am working out my next step. I still have around 25-30lbs to lose. What…

Yes MFP helps
I had pretty much maintained for 9 years until COVID. Always good healthy weight. Then I dropped ten pounds and gained 15 - suddenly my pants were tight despite a lot of daily exercise. I also quit logging - it wasn’t influencing my eating (I thought) and I knew the drill. Well. Restarted logging a month ago. Lost 7 pounds…

Subject to Emotional Eating
In this past month, I have had TWO binges. Both came as letdowns after a period of high anxiety or stress. (At five feet tall and weighing 95-97 lbs, MFP limits me to under 1400 calories before it warns me I'm on a weight gain trend - and its projections have been accurate enough that I do take this seriously and continue…

Weight gain after a month of overeating
After years of being overweight I finally.reached my goal weight very slowly and steadily and honestly.without much effort but now I have gained 6 kilos in 6 weeks of overeating everyday. It's depressing me and giving me anxiety! If I gained 6 kilos in 6 weeks, would it be possible to loose those 6 kilos in 6 weeks if I…

Adjust calorie goal?
Hey guys, first time on here. Not sure if this is the best forum for my question but I'm trying to lose weight so thought this may be it. Gone WFPB and lost 45lb now concerned how to “not lose more”
I was 210, my goal was 165, which I’ve now achieved. I’ll probably try 155 as my Amazon halo body fat app makes me look better at 10% body fat (and I’ll get bored without a goal). Since going WFPB (Whole Foods Plant Based) my TC dropped from 283 to 143 (unmedicated) everything is great, dropping g dairy was hard … I LOVEd…

Logging again
Hi all - I had logged for 9 years (May 2012). My weight was fine and I wasn’t using MFP to change my eating. Hit a wall in October and decided to take a break after logging everything for almost 10 years. I am back! I need to drop some pandemic weight. I am at my original weight loss goal but up from my low point. My hips…

Should I stay at a deficit until upcoming vacation?
I recently reached my goal weight. I feel more than ready (mentally) to start adding back calories until I reach maintenance. However, I’m going on vacation in a few weeks, and I’m wondering if it would be best to stay at a deficit. One thing to keep in mind, I am petite and older, so I stay at 1,200 calories even with…

Our diet-obsessed culture
I hit my "goal weight" last week- for probably the 10th time in my life. I've been a lot thinner, and a lot heavier, but this is the range that I know has been healthy and comfortable to maintain in the past- and it measures correctly on all the "scales" Hitting that number on the scale has made me pause and think about…
