Bye-bye Fast Food!
Here's a little success story I wanted to share....ever so often I used to have to take all the extra fast food napkins out of my console that invariably build up and take them in the house to use. Today I noticed it has been so long since I have eaten fast food that there are NO NAPKINS AT ALL in there, and have not been…

Inches Lost
I have been working on exercise and weight loss for a month now. The first week and a half were half hearted and a slow start. I am now working out six days a week and tracking everything I eat. As of today I am down a little more than twelve pounds and I am most excited about two inches off my waist. I have that typical…

1 Burger 3 Cupcakes and 1128 steps
I know I am not the typical success story, but I feel successful. We decided to order breakfast. I looked at the Omelette with fruits but ordered a breakfast burger with fries instead. I enjoyed every bite. I never had one before, it was a hit. Early in the afternoon, I recycled 3 leftover birthday cupcakes. They didn't…

Yay! I'm Severely Obese!
Meaning my BMI is now <40 (39.9!) and so I'm no longer "morbidly obese" (Class III) and just "severely obese" (Class II). :D 27 pounds down, [not going to say just yet] pounds to go. Next stop: just plain Obese! I can't WAIT to be just plain "overweight". ;)

UPDATE: Down 72lbs Since Oct. 2020
Update since my last post: I’m now down 72lbs since Oct. 2020. It feels great! A few things I’ve learned on this journey and in all my experience and struggles with my weight: - Results do not matter if the changes you’re making are not sustainable. - Exercise isn’t necessary for losing weight. If you are going to…

What was the moment? When did you decide to take back control?
Maybe it wasn't one exact moment for you but what were the things that led you to finally say enough is enough and to get serious about your health and try to lose the weight? For me, I was driving aimlessly looking for something to pick up for lunch. I thought mexican? Nah. I just had that the other day, Cheeseburgers…

When I first started this journey I thought ____, but now I know ____.
1. I thought I was eating enough protein, but now I know I wasn't and it's very important that I do. 2. I thought I had to exercise to lose weight, but now I know that its really good for me mentally and physically but not necessary for weight loss. 3. I thought I would have to eat less food than I do, but now I know that…

Losing weight for sugery
I have prostate cancer. They tried surgery in November of 2020, but it failed. They have to inflate your abdomen to see what's what in there, and then invert you on the table so that your feet are higher than your head. The combination of these two things caused my big belly to press on my lungs. My CO level went up, my O2…

Size 14 clothes!
I wanted to share my success! At Christmas I was a size 18-20, 220lbs, grossly unfit and made the step to reduce my calories and increase my exercise Today I am 182.4lbs, and wearing size 14 cycling tights. I've got hip bones and collar bones and my boobs have shrunk 2 cup sizes (it's not all good!) But this is the lowest…

Intermittent fasting and low carb
Doing a 3/21 hours intermittent fasting with low carb diet (because of diabetes) and the result: lost 52 pounds in 4 months. Still way to go to my tarhet weight (30 pounds more to lose).

Reached step 1
I started to lose weight (this time) on Jan 1 at BMI 29.6. Today I reached my arbitrary target of BMI 22.5 after 21 weeks. The real goal of course is not to put the weight back on, hence I don't want to say I reached my goal yet. Maybe after a year at target weight or body fat %. Stats for the last 21 weeks, or 147 days:…

My Doctor Said I Will Never Lose My Weight
Seriously, a heart doctor told me "it's not gonna happen" when I told him my weight-loss plans. So naturally I am doing it. Down 60 pounds so far. 50 more to go. He said it because of my age: 66. What he didn't know is I am getting younger by the day.

Pictures over scale.... here is why :)
Numbers suck!!!!! Just in case you are feeling discouraged by slow loss, it's important to remember that body composition changes and the scale doesn't communicate that. In 5 weeks I have a achieved 4.5 lbs loss.... I'm 5'2" so that also doesn't help but if it weren't for the pictures I might get discouraged. Buy a tripod…

Losing just 20 lbs
I see a lot of great success stories of people who have lost a significant amount of weight. I have just 20 lbs to lose and would like to hear from others in that same situation who have been successful. I find it extremely hard and really feel I have to cut back calories significantly (not below 1200) and feel hungry all…

Lost 166lbs and going strong (pic)
I have lost 166 lbs (11stone, 12lbs) The road has been very difficult and sometimes very painful but I have kept my momentum up to carry on. It is not over and still have quite a way to go but I will get there. It has been a very long time since I have seen myself even at the size I currently am. I came to a crossroad when…

Don't give up, even if it takes you years, progress is progress. Thanks for letting me share my joy! Edited because I originally shared some health…

One Year of Weight Lose
Here I am, 366 days of logging. 366 days of being mindful of what I'm eating. 366 days of thinking how to get some sort of workout in. 366 days of being a better person, both physically and mentally. 366 days = 30 lbs weight lose, some good streaks, some bad mixed in. But, overall very successful. Now to knock out the…

25 pounds gone! MFP works!
I hope this inspires someone on their journey. Started this MFP journey at 224 pounds. Bottom line, I had let myself go. But the journey to doing something about it was more than just wanting to fit into smaller pants. I had some issues with blood pressure which had caused a problem with one of my eyes. High blood pressure…

It might be a small win but it IS a win!
I went to the bakery to pick up a cake I ordered for a celebration tomorrow. I resisted to the temptation to get myself a sweet treat while I was there. I am so proud of myself!
