I have spent the day washing several dogs, vacuming a house two different times, cleaning a yard, and a couple of other general things household/yard things. I have just spent the last hour going to every websight out there to see if any…

Good ways to sneak cardio into a day?
I'm looking for some ways to get a quick 10 or 15 minutes of good cardio in when I have spare time. You know, just to get my heart pumping a little. Haha. Anyways, any suggestions?

Hamstring injury
Five to six weeks ago, I walked at a women's walking clinic and have had pain in the back of my leg, around the knee area ever since. After one week of pain, I went to my family doctor. She said arthritis, and maybe I do have arthritis. But after talking to others, and reading about hamstring injuries, I'm more inclined to…

I was also wondering if I had enough time from now until then to train for the…

Lifting weights
So I always forget how this goes.... I haven't lifted in forever. I am 5'3 and I'm at 135. I have some arm fat that kinda just jiggles and it's really annoying... So I have two 3 pound weights that I just got. My boyfriend keeps telling me that it's repetition that helps tones not the actual weight number. So... I want to…

exercise and calf muscle injury
Yesterday I tore my calf muscle while on a field trip with my child's 3rd grade class. I've been jogging 4 times a week and my calf muscles have been tight in general. My calf muscles were tight and I went down a stairwell and on the last step something pulled / snapped. Anyway, I've been to the doctor and I'm on crutches…

P90X and C-Sections
Question for anyone who is doing the program after a c-section. Mine was back in October, so I am totally healed. However, when I do certain ab exercises I feel the muscles around my scar getting pulled and its definately uncomfortable. Is anyone else experiencing this? What do you do?

Not realising Age
I am 43 but still feel mid 20s but when I exercise I just can't keep up with my imaginary age any more.. My son-in-law and I went for a walk/jog/bike ride the other day and he said that for an old man I did well (he is just 20). We walked and warmed up for 2 miles in 30 mins, then jogged for 5 miles in 45 mins, and then…

I have no energy
I have always had this problem. For awhile we thought I had chronic fatigue/fibromialgia. Then last April I was put on Thyroid meds. I know I need to exercise to lose weight and keep it off, but I always feel exhausted. Every night I set my alarm early enough to exercise. Then I can't get out of bed and I tell myself I'll…

HRM-watch vs. chest
I have read many posts regarding heart rate monitors and that to get more accurate readings you have to buy the one with a chest strap. Well I had already bought the watch and I like it so I am going to keep it. My question is how "off" is the readings with the watch. I wore my watch while I was on the treadmill and it…

New to swimming for exercise
I'm going to attempt to swim laps at my gym tomorrow evening, and I'm not exactly sure what to expect from myself. My normal workout is running 2 miles, hiking, or bike riding until my legs are jelly. I've always swam leisurely. Should I swim for 30 minutes??? Should I swim for X amount of laps??? I guess my question is…

To eat or not to eat xercise calories...
I know there has been several posts about this, and it seems there is a general agreement that you SHOULD eat your exercise calories...but for me, I burn a heck of a lot of calories and if I were to eat all of them, I would be stuffing myself. That being said, whenever I have dieted in the past, I have always NEVER eaten…

Pain in Shins
Ok I really like to run. I love the feeling after. But, it is killing my shins. I'm still pretty heavy (266) and I know that it has to do with my weight and the stress I'm putting on the bone and muscle. Usually I wont run but maybe once or twice a week. I have to go back to cycling or Elliptical or some other exercise. My…

Anyone completed Jillian's 30 Day Slim Down?
What were your results like? I'm mostly trying to firm up now, but of course, losing the last pounds would be great too. I just finished day 11 today. What might I expect when I'm done? Also, did you do it again when you were done, or did you try something else?

question about weight lifting
For about a month now I have brought weight lifting into my exercise program. I do a three day rotation. I do shoulders, biceps and legs one day, then chest, triceps and legs the next day, and then I do back and legs on the third day. After the third day I take a day off, and then start my rotation again after the day off.…

Getting your BMR tested
Does anyone know what type of places you can have your BMR tested? I've read online a little bit about it and some people say they do it at the doctor's office. I have my yearly exam next Friday, maybe I'll ask. I would like to know what mine is for real, not by using the calcuators.

The first day of Spring is March 20 - it will also be around that time that things start to get really crazy here at work. I already have a goal to start the C25K the first week of March, but I need to get in the…

For the ladies...an unexpected benefit from exercise...
I have noticed the last 2 months since I started exercising that TOM isn't as bad. Before, I would literally have flu like symptoms a couple of days before: body aches, low grade fever, moodiness, fatigue, and general feeling of not feeling well...however, I do not have any of these symptoms any longer. That alone is…
