I am such a knucklehead!!
So I got my new HRM, and I've been wearing it but haven't been 100% happy with it...I'd be running and it'd sometimes go blank and show 0 as my heart rate. I'd be thinking "I'm RUNNING, for pete's sake, how can it not register?" Some days it'd work okay, some days not at all and I'd take it off in a huff. Until today, when…

Working out inside at home
I live in Minnesota, and the winter is fast approaching. I have access to a gym on my college's campus, but it's far away, and I've gotten really sick in the past walking there in severe subzero weather. I would really appreciate if anyone could tell me what they do to work out indoors at home. I don't have a lot of space…

Jillian Michaels says about losing more then a pound a week.
To lose a pound, you must burn 3,500 calories. As I've said before, it's all about the math — how to burn more calories in the most effective way. You can only do so much resistance training without damaging your muscles and impeding your results. Additionally, you can't starve the weight off: If you eat fewer than 1,200…

Question about heartrate monitors and calories burned
I just got my heart rate monitor yesterday. It's a polar ft60 and so far I'm loving it but I'm confused with regard to calories burned. It says in a 40 minute elliptical session I'm burning about 300 calories whereas I think the machine says somewhere around 260. Which one is correct? Also what about the calories I would…
