Zumba Workout
I saw this workout on T.V. Its called Zumba. It looks very interesting, fun and reminds me of Turbo Jam's style. I was wondering if anyone has done this workout and if so...did you like it? Is it easy to do as in learning the steps?

is my walk to work a real calorie burner?
Okay...this may seem like I'm getting overly complicated...but... I usually get up in the morning for a walk/run and log those exercise minutes religiously. But, then an hour after breakfast I usually walk to work. This walk is about 12 minutes one way and is quite hilly. Then in the evening I walk home another 12 minutes.…

Totally Confused
I am very green when it comes to the whole calorie counting, calorie burning part of weight loss. From what I have read you need to burn more then you eat in order to lose weight but how do you know how much you are burning. I am so confused. Can someone help me? Is there a book all of you have read? Maybe this is why I…

Not sure whether should be exercise or nutrition post
Hi Everyone- On weekdays, I work out from 6-7am so that I can get it in before heading to the office. I alternate between spinning, swimming, and group power (strength training to music). Ok, here's the question. What should I be eating before I work out? I normally just have water before and during and am fine. Also, more…

SBF...Sept 24
One week left, y'all. I sure would like to say I've lost some weight... I don't know what exercise I'm doing today. It will involve going to the gym. I'm getting rather sun tanned from all these bike rides. Yesterday was biking and walking - each for an hour. So, we went to our favorite tea place last night. Probably the…

Heart rate monitor accuracy
I just began using a Polar F11 HRM. Does anyone know how accurate they are in terms of calories. It says that I'm burning around 700 for a normal 75 minute workout (mix of treadmill, wave machine, elliptical, weight machines, bike). But on the other hand, the machines are usually 200 calories lower? I want to make sure…

60-70% vs 80-90%???
I understand that when you work out, if you want to burn fat you should stay in the 60-70% range. If you want to improve cardio, stay in the 80-90% range. So, if you are working out in the 80-90% range, how can you not burn fat too? How is it possible to work out and not burn fat when you are burning calories???

Some exercise questions...!
Okay, so I've been plugging along at this whole MFP thing since mid-April, and to date I've lost about 45 lbs. :) I don't know if this is in the right forum though, so feel free to move it if it isn't. Now, I know it gets harder as you get closer to your goal weight so I'm trying to not mess this up. I'm really most…

I don't feel like I'm getting any stronger....
Hello everyone. I have a bit of a rant....so before I started doing all this healthy eating and exercising, I was basically eating garbage but still exercising 3 times per week...of course I lost no weight because of the poor diet. NOW, I'm doing very well combining the two (diet and excercise) and hitting the gym hard 5…

Cardio Max!!
Bob just kicked my butt!! Wow! I don't see how people are able to spend months with him, AND Jillian, for months at a time on The Biggest Loser-Probably why they get such awesome results! For those of you who do this workout, how do you count the calories burned? What type of activity do you put in the exercise log?? I did…

Confused.
About 2 weeks ago I think it was, I upped my cals to 1400. Since then I have been eating between 1600-2000. But my weight is still going down. I have not been working out or drinking my water... so maybe I am losing muscle mass, maybe I am becoming dehydrated (dont know if that helps haha)? Before when I was eating between…

may have payed off
The pilates I gave up on yesterday are still haunting me today!! My abs, legs and arms are burning! You know when you have a cold and can't get out a good cough because it sends pain through your abs because they are already soooo sore. So the 10 minutes or so of attempting to emulate the pilates positions must have paid…
