Help with calorie calculation
I am looking for some advice on what my daily goal should be for my calorie intake. I am 5'7" and weigh 180. MFP says I should have 1400 calories and I worry that it is not enough. I am excrcising once a week (yoga class) and have enrolled in a kick boxing class but haven't started it yet. I thought I would lose more…

Need some fun and healthy preschool snack ideas!
My daughter goes to a cooperative preschool, which means that it is completely run by the parents. We all take turns providing the snack and drinks on the days we work in the classroom. I need to bring the snack this Friday, and I feel like I've used all my cute snack ideas. Of course it has to be healthy, and the kids get…

How to adjust daily carb/fat/protein goals?
For me, the daily carb/fat/protein goals that MFP has set are WAY off... it wants me to have mostly carbs, followed by fat, then very little protein. This is not what I feel a good diet should be. All in all, I would like to change it so that I am looking at around 40% protein, 30% fat, and 30% carbs. I don't care if it's…

Box it in/Box it out
In his book, the Thin Commandments, Stephen Gullo talks about "boxing" foods. You "box out" foods you know are not good for you for one reason or another (e.g., high calorie, addictive, etc.) and avoid them all together. You "box in" foods that you don't want to completely avoid but need to limit. I have GOT to get back on…

Help!!! I am sure it may have been asked many times before, but I wasn't seeing a Straight answer in the posts I read... I have my diet set at 1200 calories to lose weight. Nutrition Info for Mashed Cauliflower???
I am starting to make mashed cauliflower for dinners instead of my usual sweet potatoe or salad every night. I simply boil the cauliflower, add a 2-3 tbsp fat free sour cream, and 2-3 tbsp of I can't believe it's not butter, then mash them (this is for a big pot, not a single dinner serving). Very simple. I was just…

On pinterest I found a guide on how to make, and freeze, your own breakfast sandwiches! I love this idea because as a single mother I have absolutely no time in the mornings to cook food! I just made my first batch and I used up the last frozen biscuits I had on hand, some Canadian bacon, oven poached egg, and half slice…

Eating back calories burned from exercise
I understand you are supposed to eat back calories burned from exercise, but I can't possibly eat back all the calories burned from my workout. I'm wearing a chest strap heart rate monitor that calculates calories burned and each hockey game I play burns between 1400-1700 calories. Today was a two hour session - 2300…

Rasberry Keytones and Green Coffee Bean Extract
I am interested to learn if anyone has had any success with either of these two supplement touted on Dr. OZ? On the internet I read nothing but great things, but when I tried both, I got nothing. Parfait v. Peanut Butter
For the first time, I have compared my 2 go-to breakfasts (thanks to MFP). The peanut butter on whole wheat sandwich gives me 498 calories, 32 whopping grams of fat, and 19 g of protein. The yogurt/grape nutes/banana parfait (which I thought would be a WHOLE LOT healthier) gives me 580 calories, 4 g of fat, and 14 g of…
