Help with sushi
Hi, I'm going to a local sushi place for dinner tonight. It's the first time I'm eating at a restaurant since beginning to track my calories. It's a mom & pop place. I plan to stay away from california rolls and other creamy things, but am wondering if any sushi connoisseurs (I am not one) can give me a few more tips on…

Made the change
Today I have just gone through my cupboard and got rid of all of my unhealthy junk and replaced it with healthier alternatives. Ive gotten loads of brown rice and pasta, brown bread, loads of beans and pulses, tinned fruit and veg (as well as fresh, of course, the tinns are just there as a backup!) and loooads of tinned…

Hyperhidrosis--anyone else?
Hey everyone, I have mild hyperhidrosis in my hands, feet and armpits. Even when I'm quite cool and not under any pressure, my palms can be sweaty enough to through my pants, and I have to be careful about what shirts i wear, because I can get huge gross sweat marks under my arms. I've been doing some research, and besides…

emotional eating!
Hi all I'm sure this comes up pretty frequently, but I'm wondering what your tips are for avoiding emotional eating. I am not sure why I am suddenly wanting to eat so much, but I think it's more stress related than anything else. When I say emotional eating, I don't mean I'm pigging out with a gallon of ice cream or a row…

Starvation mode (again probably...)
I know a lot of people always talk about the body going into starvation mode. But what i want to ask is that if I eat for example 500 calories in a day, do nothing but sit and study and I genuinely do not feel hungry during the day, will I still go into starvation mode? I know that everyone says when you hit starvation…

Dear lord this is insane!!
My office ordered my department lunch today from the CHEESECAKE FACTORY and I went ahead and order a burrito. Well when my burrito got here it weighs literally 3 freaking lbs! Its enough to feed a family of five and Cheesecake Factory considers this one portion! Well I decided to look up the calories in it before scarfing…

Salad Dressing
I am just starting out and looking for some low calorie foods, so I head on up to Walmart. I pick out some carrots and get some salad, but I keep thinking of all the calories salad dressing has. 200 calories for 2 tbsp? That's a little crazy. I am one of those people that have to have dressing on their salad. I found…

Alcohol.
Tonight, I'm going on a night out, and being 18 and in England that means a fairly large amount of alcohol will be involved. I'm not asking for anybody to tell me not to drink it, because I am going to, and I don't especially need advice on what to drink as I know clear spirits have the least calories, and a calorie-free…

wrong caloric value
I find that some of the foods listed have the wrong caloric values. 1 cup of generic fresh strawberries showed 9 calories. That is so wrong. The caloric values needs to be look at very carefully when you add it to your foods consumed. Also if the site could be cleaned up with the inaccurate info that would be great.

Super yummy light meal or snack.
I don't know about you, but cutting my calories really leaves me feeling drained sometimes. When I just don't have the energy to cook, make a salad, or even throw together a healthy sandwich, I make this; two slices of whole grain toast topped with one half of a medium avocado, and a serving of Starkist hickory smoked…

Eating Primal
Has anyone heard of "eating primal?" http://www.marksdailyapple.com/definitive-guide-to-the-primal-eating-plan/ It seems interesting, and I was thinking about buying the book. If anyone has bought the book and/or implemented this type of lifestyle, I'd love to hear about what you think and how it's worked or hasn't worked…

Great source of frozen veggies...
Just wanted to spread the word of VIP steamworks. This company doesn't have ANY ADDITIVES and such in this particular product. Anyone else trying to lose 1kg or 2.2 pounds a week?
I like to see results and can get easily disollusioned if I don't see them. I have set my goals to loose 1kg per week until I reach my healthy weight. I am finding that even with 50 minutes of walking every day which adds 247 calories, I don't really eat that much each day to get to a total of 1200 calories which includes…

Counting vegetable calories!
The one thing that is a little disconcerting about this plan is that I have to count the calories for all the vegetables I eat! Usually, for lunch, when I bring it from home, I will have a Smart Ones or Lean Cuisine and a big bounty of vegetables: baby carrots, a roma tomato, bell pepper, 2 persian cucumbers from Trader…

Memoirs of a breakfast hater.
Yup, that's me. I am totally not a breakfast eater. At all. Therefore, I (not on purpose) have most of my calories at night. I started worrying a bit about that. So I did some research. Seems most people say that that's a bad bad thing....even going as far as saying breakfast should be your highest calorie meal of the day.…

Protein powder...why?
Maybe this is a stupid question, but I was just wondering the benefits of using protein powders (like in shakes, smoothies, etc) or why you use them. I seem to be always over on my daily protein values as it is.

Am I suppose to eat the exercise calories?
I just started logging my food diary a few days ago and noticed that I get 1360 calories w/o exercise but when I exercise it increases about 400 calories. Do I need to keep it at 1360 to lose the weight?
