Did this by getting down to 80 to 120 carbs a day and 80 to 120 g of protein a day. i’m somewhere between 800 and1200 calories a day. I am around 5‘6“. It’s amazing how much I’ve lost. I…

Calories and weight loss
Hello. My name is Will and I am an active 47yr old male that trains 5-6 days a week, including martial arts, lifting and rucking. The issue I am having the past 12 months is getting my weight down. I understand the calculations and of being in a caloric deficit. I understand macros, time restriction feeding etc...but to my…

Frustrated
I have been on this fitness journey for the last 2 years. I'm 60 years old and I can't seem to stay focus and lose much weight. I have tried several things and for the life of me I continue to go up and down. I lose a couple of pounds: only to gain them right back again. I am so frustrated 😠 but I refuse to stop until I…

500k of cake vs 500k of pecans
Hellooo!!! Maybe this question is very basic but I would love if some could explain me. If I am counting calories to loose weight it is the same eating 500 calories in cake than in 500 calories of pecans.

How can I possibly eat this much protein?
So I just entered my data at tdeecalculator.net, complete with stats from a recent DEXA scan. I work out pretty hard at least 3 days a week with lots of weights, occasional running, and quite a bit of HIIT, but I need to drop about 20lbs to be at what I consider a reasonable body fat percentage (15-17%). The results were a…

Fat loss goal
I’m not new to the fitness world, but I seem to struggle with losing belly and suprapubic fat. Two of my biggest problem areas. I have increased cardia and strength training as well as having a reduced (safe) caloric deficit and ensuring I meet my protein needs and reducing sugar and fat. So…. Where am I going wrong? Any…

Building workout schedule
I want to build my own workout schedule at home for losing weight. I will train for 4 days. so to cut it short: how can I know the perfect reps and sets for each exercise to do? because I see schedules 3×15 and others 3×5 so I don't know how to decide this.

Is my calorie level right for my goals?
I am fairly new to MFP... and really feeling like this could be the "life style change" that will work for me....I just don't want to screw it up. I started at 189.8 in mid January and I have been weighing 173.6 for the past few days. I am 63, 5'7" and female.. ... Saturday and Sunday I work at the winery - slightly…

Body Recomp & Hunger
This post is mostly to get ideas based on what works for you. Advice is also welcome. My goal is to increase my fitness without creating a massive change in my hunger signals. Everyone is different, but I’m curious what workouts/activity you do that doesn’t make you feel constantly hungry and clearly improved your body…

Is your health insurance worth it?
I'm on a value plan paying about $150 per month for a 30% co pay after a $1,600 deductable...might not be worth it unless I do a lot of preventative exams that are 100% paid for. I think it might be better to work 2 part time jobs and get it through the health marketplace.

Larger-framed-ladies, what's your goal weight?
This is a thread for all those who have ever looked at a thread entitled 'Such and such a height, what's your goal weight', looked at the answers, and despaired! Ladies with larger-than-average frames, and consequently, higher-than-average goal weights, what are your goals? We may never fit into the BMI-chart, we may…

Type 2 Diabetes (T2D)
I recently was diagnosed with T2D. I was pre diabetic for 10 years and did not take it seriously. Now I am. I've reduced my daily carbs to 113, with 131 protein and 58 fat. I asked my nutritionist about Keto Green16. She suggested I follow it 2 days per week, but stay away from the trans fats. Thoughts? Comments?

How often do you weigh yourself?
Just curious. I officially weighed myself at the beginning of this week when I started and I’m hoping to go a full month before writing it down again and saying I lost this much so far because I know I get obsessive at times over the scale but there’s times I’m terrible and will jump on the scale like every day knowing I…

Vacation Blues
I just got back from vacation --visiting my brother and family out of state. I didn't have a lot of control over my food (they cooked), but I managed to stay in my points. I arrived home today and I've gained four pounds. Ugh. Some of it is water-weight from the excess salt and flying. I KNOW it is temporary, but it still…

Undo the damage
I have a curiosity question: On days when you overeat fat, how do you balance it off? For example, I ate a handful of peanuts and some nuts because I got hungry and lunch wasn't ready on time, which added extra fat of 38 gm to my daily goal. I was thinking of doing an extra hour of cardio and resistance training, but I…

Should we not all be more overweight?
Hi there, I know we're told that to lose .5lb per week/1lb per week, we need to reduce our calories by 250/500 calories. However, if my TDEE is only 1650 calories I find it hard to believe that I wouldn't ordinarily, (when not dieting), easily eat 2000 or more calories per day, which would mean I would gain weekly. Does…
