Just turned 30 ... Can this be my best year??
So. I've been on MFP since May 12 (day after Mother's Day slapped me in the face with reality). I did 5 hardcore weeks and lost 15 pounds. Then I went home to MA for almost two weeks with the kiddos - did workout at home, but also ate like crap and celebrated my turning 30 in a margarita and cake induced celebration. Then…

Heart Rate Monitors vs. Activity Monitors
As a reward for getting down to the weight I was when I came to Indiana, I bought a Polar FT4 from Best Buy. I had to do this best on limited information, but the heart rate monitor seemed like a better choice. True, it does not count steps, nor does it tell me how accurate it is, but it does give me a calorie count that…

Advice needed on logging food...
Hi all, When you go to a restaurant, what is the best way to log in food? I have been logging in all week and it's been fairly straightforward (greek yogurt...bananas...oatmeal, etc) but what do you do when you go to a restaurant and you have dishes that you aren't 100% sure what's in them? Do you log projected ingredients…

New to Strength Workouts
So I know that strength exercises do not burn as much calories as cardio.. and I heard that supposedly after doing strength workouts your body continues to burn calories after the workout is over and is more beneficial to muscle growth and overall fat burn than cardio alone - or so i heard (if you can verify this that…

Where do you put your children so you can workout?
Hello. I'm having a huge issue. Anytime I try to work out at home my kids crawl all over me (they are 1 &3) I have tried to get them to exercise WITH me but as soon as I lay on the floor it's a dogpile on top of me, which lately even results in a time out, which leads me to getting distracted away from the exercise which…
