BMR and 1200 calories
hi I'm wanting to lose 2lbs a week but I have done a BMR test which shows mine at about 1500 calories. So if I eat 1200 calories like MFP recommends that's only 300 calories down which in a week is only 2100 calories which isn't even a pound. I plan on doing an hours walk which 5 times a week which might up my calorie loss…

Healthy meals
I'm having trouble actually eating healthy and fulfilling meals. I snack a lot, and the snacks aren't necessarily healthy. These habits are making it hard for me to keep the weight I lost off. Any help would be very appreciated.

Is 1600 too much for maintenance?
On days when I'm not active, I tend to gain weight eating 1600 calories. Is that too much for someone who's 115 pounds? Should I decrease my intake to 1500?

Screwing up my macros?
I've been logging 3 years and have maintained fine. My food is healthy - not refined, home cooked, lots of veggies and fruits, etc. BUT I am trying to change my macros to increase calories from protein and lower calories from carbs to under 40%. You'd think I'd know how to do that, but I keep getting stuck. My carbs are…

"Cheat" Food While Maintaining
So how do cheat meals or cheat days change when maintaining weight instead of losing weight? While on my diet I felt like i earned my cheat food by running and that as long as I stayed under my diet budget I would be fine. So even on cheat days I tracked calories and didn't eat more than MFP told me. The calorie deficit…

In need of good toning up tips!

Entered maintenance this week... Struggling to enjoy additional calories and not feel guilty. Help!
i reached goal this week after losing 127lbs in 20 months. Sticking to a lower calorie allowance became manageable and felt "safe" and routine. I've now set my MFP to maintenance and am allowed almost double the calories. I definitely feel dubious and nervous about increasing my allowance by that much but I have been…

Our holiday picnic today was yummy, good friendship and food (but not too much food! lol)
It's a holiday weekend in the USA. Memorial day, when we remember all those who have served in our country and paid the price for our freedom. My friend Pam brought her daughter and her daughters friend up for a picnic lunch today. We met online and it turns out we live near each other so we are becoming friends in this…

Reached my goal and now it's time to maintain..I'm a little nervous about it!
Today I decided it was time to start maintaining. I went from 223 to 137 and I am 5'8 and 31 years old. I was eating at 1240 and my calorie burn 5 days a week is 700-800. I saw my nutritionist today thinking that she was going to give me a number to maintain at, and instead she told me to just focus on my eating and seeing…

Weight creeping up
I've maintained at 1300cal + Fitbit cal last year but at the beginning of the year I decided that I could be more adventurous and upped my cal to 1400cal+ Fitbit cal but my weight creeped up so I lowered my cal back to 1200cal + Fitbit cal but my weight is still creeping up now. What is wrong?! My diet had changed a bit.…

BF% and Hormones
I googled this question, but couldn't get a "definitive" answer. I thought women on MFP might be more knowledgeable than the internet. Has anyone experienced a drop in body fat throwing off your cycle? At what level of body fat has this happened? I had my BF% tested a year and a half ago (24.5%). I've been lifting and have…

Maintaining Weight Transition Plan
Hello, This is my first post on the MFP Forum. Using MFP i have lost 56.3 lbs in 307 Days and i have hit the goal weight of 180 lbs. I'm happy at this weight and I've grown tired of the negative side effects of a calorie deficit (low sex drive, depression) I think so the time has come to focus on maintaining. I'm…

Which would you rather do?
No one can balance calories in and calories out exactly, even in a lab. So which would you rather do? Would you rather eat more than you burn and have to cut calories occasionally? Or would you rather eat less than you burn and have to eat more to gain weight?

Same net calories + doing weights
Hi guys! I started doing weights at the gym, and am loving it. However, I don't love dieting and have decided to take a break from it. As a 5'1" woman - and mom or two -- at about 135 lbs, I'm a bit chubbier, but not very overweight. What happens if my net calories stays at about maintanence. I presume my weight will not…

How long did it take you to make the mental shift from fat to not fat
So I've lost 60lbs using MFP. I'm now at a healthy BMI (although at the very high end), and I'd like to lose another 15lbs or so. However, despite everyone telling me I'm "tiny" I still feel like the fat girl in the room. So for those of you have been maintaining how long did it take you to make the mental shift? I don't…

Best Magazine subscription for new workouts
I've been doing strength training throughout my weight loss and my routine has gotten a bit bland. I don't want to buy more personal training sessions, so I'm looking for a magazine that will outline innovative new strength workouts. Sorry if this has been asked before, this is my first original post.

been maintaining but not always easy
I lost over 85 lbs from about 190 to 102 to 105, depending on the day. I'm 5'2", so I can't eat much. My maintenance calories according to my goals on this app are 1470. I only count when I have had some difficulties. Usually, I go by what the nutritionist said: to weigh every day to monitor and on a scale of 1-10, never…

5.65 female - maintenance calorie goal?
Hello, I'm 169cm (5.65 ft.inches) and currently weigh 58.3kg (128.5lbs), female, 41 years old. I'm still losing weight though I went into maintenance some 2kg ago. I don't want to lose more weight, but I also don't want to go into useless binging or eating sweets just to fill up with more calories. Upping calories slowly…

Losing while maintaining
Hi, everyone: I'm currently close to my goal of 135 or 26" waist, whichever comes first. (Started at 160, 30" waist). When I reached 138 pounds, I switched to maintenance, which for me is 1600 plus eating back any exercise calories, which I almost always do. However, I'm continuing to lose. I know things will even out, but…

Loose Skin
adopting an active lifestyle helps more than just to maintain weight- it changes our body composition. Lift weights, ramp up your cardio and add in yoga a couple of times a week and then just be patient. After losing 100# in my late 50s, I contented myself that the increased energy and mobility outweighed any sag or…

For oldtimers - an MFP question
Lots of maintainers have been here a long time. Has the site slowed substantially since it was sold to UnderArmour and they did the last update? I feel like it hangs when I want to select a food and takes a long time load with all the animated ads. I've taken to doing all my logging on my phone. Although you can now see…
