!YAY! I lost my first 10 lbs!!!
Well... actually it is a total of 12 lbs! ONLY 38 more to go!!! I use to be a person who thought that 150 lbs was heavy (at 5'8")... now I can't wait to get to be that size again. I was also mentioning to my sister yesterday morning this is the first time that I have ever tried to lose weight without any…

It's all about the graph
The report function of this site is the key to any success I've had. I weigh in every single day and watch the graph line move downward. It's awesome. I think those that only weigh in once a week are missing out. For instance, I totally screwed up yesterday thanks to a huge breakfast at McDonald's and gave up for the rest…

Finally Broke My Plateau!!!
After over FOUR months at yo-yo-ing at the same weight (give or take four lbs), I finally broke my plateau!! I'm even in a new "decade"...Woo Hoo!! What broke it for me was this new 'program'.- MFP!! I lost the first 40-42 lbs on Weight Watchers- Which was great, but I needed a change- so I did it "on my own" for awhile…

Have to start keeping log again...
I reached my target weight last fall, and thought that since I had developed better eating habits, I could stop logging my food. Not so! Even though I have been keeping rough calorie estimates in my head, it is so much easier to keep snacking when I know that I will not be writing down everything that I eat. Writing it all…

in a rutt
So I work out a ton (I try to mix it up, too), eat pretty well, but I'm at a plateau. Not losing any weight and I'm starting to get cravings again. Granted I've stepped up the working out part, so it does make sense that I'm wanting more food in general, but does anyone have any tips for getting around those pizza/ice…

Just something to try...
Scenario: You are at the grocery store, only to buy milk, bread, and eggs, when you look at the Ice cream aisle, right next to the milk aisle. Your stomach growls in anticipation. After all, it's only been 2 weeks since you first started dieting. You could use a little treat, right? DON'T. Solution: Load up a grocery cart…

what keep you going?
I've been working out for about three weeks and counting calories for about two. Its getting harder and harder for me to keep it up, I really thought that it would get easier. Everytime I start a dieting and working out I quit after a month, I loose motivation. What's your motivation?

For those who have BAD days
If you find yourself having a bad day here and there, try this. If you have Excel or some other program that can calculate (or just a paper, pen and calculator) find your averages on everything you are consuming... calories, fat, sugar, exercise burned, etc. Some days I find I am higher on certain items and others I am…

What lessons did it teach you?
Hi there, I have to say that being overweight taught me some lessons. It allowed me to concentrate on being myself instead of focusing on what I look like. It prevented unwanted advances and kept me honest as well. I was able to make more friends with women because they didn't see me as a threat. It taught me compassion…

A serious question...
So I posted this question on my blog to get some ideas from my friends and family. They took it lightly when to me it is a serious question. So this is the situation.... Over the weekend I tore a hole in the only pair of pants I own that fit. I have a whole wardrobe that I can kinda fit into, but they won't really fit…

I had a really bad night:(
So after a really rough day at work, i came home to some really bad mail- there was a problem with my 2006 taxes (nice to find this out a year later)! To make it better I could not get in touch with my accountant to make them fix this problem. That is when I gave in- a double cheeseburger, medium fry, and 10 piece nugget…

I'm declaring. . .
myself an "after." I've maintained at my current weight for two months, and if I still lose a few more pounds, that's OK, but if I just continue to build muscle, that's good, too. I added "after" pictures on my profile page to celebrate, including one in my formerly un-buttonable "fat pants" For the record, they're a size…

Should we start a clothing exchange?
debuckl's query about what to do about clothes has me thinking. I bet there's hundreds of us on here. We could start some kind of clothing exchange for everyone that's shifting so many sizes. THe same pair of jeans might travel to 10 different people over a period of a couple of years! How would we do it though? Is there a…

I am in love with my boyfriend, I am hoping that I get to marry him within the next year or two. The problem is, I have…

Motivational Quotes
Just found this - The other side of effort On the other side of effort is accomplishment. On the other side of effort is the achievement of your goal. From where you now stand, the effort may look like something you would rather avoid. The challenges may appear to be imposing and even insurmountable. Think for a moment,…

I have been doing good with eating and had been sticking with a 3 workout a week schedule for the last couple weeks. Weight loss has been slow but at least there has been a loss every week.
