the small things
Okay talk about NSV. Some of my best moments on this journey have had nothing to do with the scale. Like when someone asks me where my "other half " is and I tell them he's at work , and they say no the other half of your body :) Or when my five year old does a 35 min session of Tae-Bo with me (so cute). Or when my wedding…

Tears of Joy/30 Day Shred & MFP
I am not one to cry very often, but I have to tell you, as I type this, the tears are rolling. I am so overwhelmed by the events of the last couple of days, I don't know where to begin. The best place is probably to send out a HUGE thank you to everyone here who supports me every day...I honestly do not think I could do…

NSV – I beat my Son
Ok so I started doing JM 30Day shred on Feb 19th. My Son Ryan, age 11 started doing it with me each night when I got home from work. After a few days Ryan said that level 1 was just too easy and he was going to wait until I got to level 2. Well on I went to level 2 on Day 9. I felt that level 1 was getting easy at that…

So proud of myself!
I'm so proud of myself. Currently at work, we had food in the kitchen and I got some (about a cup) of blackberry cobbler. When back to my office to log it in my food journal just to see that it summed up to 380 calories! Took one bite and then threw it away. If I could only have this will-power every day... :)

No longer obese, just overweight now
Today was my weigh day, and I am down another 3.4 lbs which brings my total to 28 lbs gone and never coming back. With the extra 3.4 lbs lost, I am no longer obese but just overweight according to my BMI. It feels great!!!! I have been in the obese category for so long that being "just overweight" feels amazing. I just had…

The Trivial Things
I have not reached my goal weight YET, but I'm still working towards it and I consider each pound lost a success :) There are a few things that I never thought about before and that maybe others would consider small or unimportant, but I've found that the trivial things have had the biggest impact on me emotionally and…

(NSV) Resisted chocolate!
So today I was hitting the bottom with my mood. I felt all alone and crappy, it made no sense but that is how I felt. Just because my plan for the night did not work out (and it was for the best in the end). So I binged a little on spaghetti, but it was all right, because I was in deficit on net calories for the past few…

Almost to Goal and Major Improvement in Running
El Paso 1/2 Marathon--> March 6, 2011 I've lost 230 pounds total, only want to drop about 11 more pounds to reach my recently revised goal of 165. This last weekend I did my third 1/2 marathon, my second in as many weeks. I thought I would share the successes. I am discovering that there are advantages to being an…

20 pounds lost
I am thrilled to say that I have lost 20 pounds and owe it to MFP. I have tried WW and lost weight but then put it back on. I feel so much freedom with MFP to be able to enjoy the foods I like without the guilt. I think tracking what I am eating and being able to see more than just the fat/cals/fiber also helps me tweak…

my first "have you lost weight?" !!
Just wanted to share a small victory: Yesterday at work, TWO different co-workers asked me if I work out or if I'd lost weight -- "You look great!" That's the first time anyone besides my roommate and boyfriend (who know I'm trying to slim down) have said anything, and I was *ecstatic*!

NSV gym gear
I normally wear a support top underneath a T-shirt top layer at the gym. Last night during body combat class I was so hot that before the super energetic Muy Thai routine I took off the top layer, revealing - gasp - my stomach! OK so it still has a way to go before it's toned and gorgeous, but I felt confident enough to…

Did not handle my first compliment very well
While Skyping the inlaws the other day they commented on how they could notice my weight loss (15 on MFP, 35 since last August) ... I made some self-deprecating comments about the camera taking away a few or something like that. It was not a very gracious way to handle the compliments that I so enjoy and appreciate and are…

The Mile.
So I don't run. At all. I ran a little when I was like twelve but that's as far as it ever went. I hate sweating, I hate burning lungs, basically anything about running. If you like running, you're either crazy or lying. Well at the begining of February I was running/walking a fifteen minute mile. I JUST NOW went to my…

First success!! NSV
I ran into a girl I haven't seen in a year today. First thing she said was "you've lost weight!" Made me feel great! Haven't lost that much but I am feeling more comfortable with myself so I am wearing clothes that fit and aren't 3 sizes too big!!

Fitness Success of the Day:)
So after doing tons of research on heart rate monitors, I went out at bought the Polar FT7. I am SO happy and am enjoying a very nice honeymoon period with it right now. I did JM Shred Level 3 and then 20 minutes later I did JM Shred Level 1. I seemed to have burned a few more calories on Level 1 but it's probably because…
