Still going strong, but don't do it my way
Here's where I was in May 2009: weight over 430, high blood pressure, blood sugar between 150 and 200, a 64-66" waist, the beginnings of congestive heart failure. Here's where I am today: more than 100 lbs. lighter, normal BP, normal - or even below normal - blood sugar, a 54" waist, and perfect breathing. A doctor who was…

Plateau Busted!
Hello! I've been moaning on here for about 4 months about my plateau and I finally got over it. I actually blew past it to be honest. Since I know it's hard to figure out what to do, I will share what I did. Nutrition: I tried to not eat sugar (huge sweet tooth here) and make sure I stayed anywhere from 1500-1800 calories…

I was shocked
So today was the day. The first weigh in and measurement day since I started with my personal trainer. I was kind of scared to see the results. I started to weigh myself yesterday and saw the scale go in the wrong direction but I told myself that it was just residule from TOM. I was correct. I didn't loose anything from…

A picture can't be wrong...
Ok so I've been complaining like mad lately about how much I've sucked since pretty much the end of summer. The scale has bounced between 173 & 167 for months and months and months - today I'm 170, tomorrow I could be 169 or 171, who knows. But anyway, so I was looking back at photos from the summer & came across one that…

No longer a skeptic....
When I first began "My Fitness Pal", I was not really sure that this was really going to work, how can a social network help a person achieve their weight loss goals. But, after being a member for almost a month now, I am no longer a skeptic. I really like the regiment of adding my food, and exercise into the website, it…

Elliptical
First off, I'd like to say MFP is AWESOME!!! It's been a huge factor in me being successful; the other part being my motivation for change! :flowerforyou: With that said, I joined MFP a little over 2 months ago. I think I last used the elliptical in Dec 09 and I kept the incline/resistance at 1/5 the whole time and then…

Every six months for at least the last two years I have had an "I desperatly need new jeans" moment when I realize that my current pair look like I borrowed them from an older sibling. Last go round it was down to a size 12 and that was an OMG moment, i was about 12 the last time I fit into a size 12 - this go round I…

Here are some recent WoW moments for me this past week. I actually completed week 3 of the C25K. This week was my nemisis. But I did it. On to week 4 tonight. I use 2 pieces of whole wheat toast, half teaspoon mayonaise, one tablespoon mustard, two thin slices of turkey, and one tablespoon ketchup. (i estimated about 350 calories) (2) is there anyone who uses nike+ I need some running…

How to motivate your loved ones...
My best friend is going through a rough time. Trying to be a supportive friend I brought up joining a gym together since exercise should not only improve her mood but be healthy for her in the long run (both of us have put on 90 excess lbs sitting behind a desk). We joined Curves last Saturday and I've been back every day…
