Fitness-iversary!
My 2 year fitness-iversary was this past week. On November 29, 2016, I joined a gym and made a comittment of living a healthier lifestyle. Two years later, I’m proud to say that i am adhering to said comittment. Hoping for many more years to come!

My Reflections back on 1500 consecutive days logging into MFP and my 207 lbs lost!
I used to be depressed and wonder how and why I became an incredibly unhealthy and extremely obese 400 lb man, and such an unhappy person in my early 50's. I was on 9 medications, type 2 diabetic, and ready to throw in the towel... One day, I came to the realization that it was nobody's fault but my own and had to hold…

2018 Year-end review (pics!)
I am very happy with my results, even though there are and have been times when it feels like its taking forever to get where I want to be. I am working on enjoying the moment and being proud of all I have accomplished. I've lost an average of 1.3 pounds per week for the past 11 months. My starting weight was 265, and is…

Are exercise calories shown on MFP on the higher side?
Should I be entering a lower value? If so, how do I calculate it? Thanks.

Anyone else out there who have smashed their weight losses. I started in Oct 2017 and have lost 106lbs so far. Had a plateau and now back on it 👍🏽

My year of living lighter
I'm almost 57, and only 156 cms (5'1 1/2"). Exactly one year ago, at 84 kg (185 lb) I was way over a healthy BMI. I looked like this: I had been telling myself I'd lose weight and get fitter for a long, long time. One year ago, I read a couple of articles that really flicked a switch in my brain. One I can't find any more…

The only real way to lose weight
I rediscovered this trick to losing weight. Over the Christmas period I have actually lose 2 kilograms of weight. How ? I hear you ask. Was it keto ? was it atkins ? Was it the famous Brussel Sprout diet ? NO. It was catching a nasty case of the flu. A few years ago I went to India and spent the following week losing…

Raising (Technically Lowering) the Bar
I sincerely hope this motivates someone who may be looking at MFP for the first time. If you’d asked me nearly four months ago, if I’d be sitting where I am now, I would have laughed in your face. It hasn’t been hard, it’s actually been a pleasure learning new things about myself and my capabilities. If I can do this, you…

10 month journey
It’s been a 10 month journey of losing and gaining weight. But I’ve managed to keep majority of the weight off. The most I’ve lost within this journey is 31lbs. But I’m currently at 23lbs. Down. The struggle is real, but I shall continue this journey. Greatness is ahead!!!

2018 - A Year of Modest Successes
Reading other people's weight loss and fitness journeys inspires me to keep trying. I appreciate their grim determination. They help me think it is possible to accomplish my goals. I have been on my own journey and thought that I might contribute my modest story to the list of successes. At 64, I decided that the time was…

Thank You to My Building's Annoying Food Delivery Policy
So today hadn't been a great day. I hurt my toe pretty badly at training a couple of days ago, and went to the doctor today to get xrays and see if it was broken. Thankfully it was not, but I'll still have to rest it and limit my exercise for at least a week probably. The whole thing was fairly draining emotionally, and I…

Merry the rest of your life time...you are NOT alone~you're a success story because
You are trying or at the very least "thinking" about trying to get down to size or at the very least a bit more healthy. Not everyone observes the "holidays" ( I don't) and to those of you that do and believe you are alone and no one cares, it's NOT true---I'm posting this thread with YOU in mind. For those of you who…

The big six oh
About 18 months ago I decided I needed to get healthy. I was drinking too much and have history of it getting out of control. So I decided to stop for good. One of the driving forces behind trying harder than ever before to make this time stick was the fear of going into my 60s as a problem drinker; risks of poor health…

NSV
I started my new journey on 1 September. I had a terrific week. Went to gym every morning, did a 5km walk yesterday, my calorie intake was great, no cheats. But when I got onto the scale this morning it was like no change from a week ago. Although I know I shouldn't be, I was upset. Then I decided to take out my…

A success story?
Well this Christmas is the very first Christmas I've not been happy with my figure. Last year I had a baby. At the beginning of the year I was an average weight. Midway through I was on medicine that has gaining weight as a side effect, and I put the pounds on. Added to that exercise was hard due to the weather. I've…
