High fiber snack
I found product called Beanitos in the health food aisle. It is a pinto bean and flax seed chip which is high fiber and contains protein (no corn or gluten). They are a little dry on their own, but combined with salsa, hummus, or a 100 calorie pack of Wholly Guacamole it was really awesome. 150 calories, 8 g fat, 55 g of…

Sugar and Molasses
After a week of tracking, I've realized that sugar is my nemesis. If I can get that under control, I will be doing great. I have anemia, though, and generally low potassium. My doctor suggested (several years ago) to have a tablespoon of blackstrap molasses every day. But, as I'm looking at where I can cut out sugar, I've…

I've looked in the database, and each entry has such wildly different information! I'm getting anywhere from 360-1000!

BMR and eating back workout calories
I keep confusing myself and I read serval posts on the subject, but I'm still confused. So I read that you shouldn't eat lower than your BMR. I calculated my BMR to be 1730. So let say I eat my BMR, that would mean I would lose around 0.5kg a week. But what if i want to lose a kg a week? Then I would need a 500 kcal…

Hormonal acne and diet
Hi all, I am looking for some advice regarding hormonal acne. This is something that I suffer from, that cannot be treated using normal topical medicines. Need suggestions with 1800 cal 40/30/30
After quite a bit of reading recently, I've adjusted my macros to 40/30/30 and am fitting it into my 1800 cal/day plan. Trouble is, I can't seem to get enough protein without going over in fat. My menus aren't perfect but you can see what I'm eating in my food diary and perhaps give some suggestions? (I didn't track M/T/W…

Eating out & calculating entree modifications?
Hi there, I'm pretty new to calorie counting, not so new to alternate diets. Here is my question: If I'm, say, going to a restaurant where I can look up the number of calories in a specific entree, is there a tried and true method of subtracting whatever ingredients I don't have included? The example is this: I'm going to…

Should I Save Cals/Carbs for Rest Day even while pregnant?
Hey all, quick question about calorie carry-over, which I know was mentioned on a thread a few days ago, but since my situation is kind of unique, I thought I'd ask. calories, calories, calories
So I'm working on accepting the fact that I need to eat more calories every day in order to lose weight. It goes against everything that's ever worked for me in the past, and certainly it goes against what the world tells to women. I initially set my daily calorie goal to 1000, but kept going over (of course), so upped it…
