What do you refuse to take out of your diet?
What is the one food or treat you refuse to give up? How do you control the amount of that item that you eat? I'm a huge Dr. Pepper fiend. I refuse to give it up completely, and whenever I try I'm completely miserable and feel deprived. I've been trying to cut back to only 1-2 a week. I drink sparkling water with natural…

The menu is here: http://cdn.shepherdneame.co.uk/sites/default/files/microsites/376/food/grill-menu-1351065647.pdf but there is no nutritional information available so I am struggling as to what the healthiest options would be (my…

Does eating healthy fats help with weight loss?
These last two weeks I have been losing more weight than I usually do, which is a good thing, but it got me thinking. I haven't changed my calorie consumption or the amount of exercise. The only thing different is that I started eating Lara Bars for breakfast which are high in healthy fats due to nuts, so I have been over…

Hi all, I have planned to have half of a pizza tonight (I had the other half yesterday) and am wondering what I could have with it. Weekly calorie intake v daily calorie intake
Hey I just have a very simple question - it is better to meet your calorie goal absolutely every day or on average by the end of the week. I have days I go over and days I go under (particularly when I'm at the gym) my daily calorie goal of 1270. So does it make any difference? I've lost weight before without the help of…

Who's got their PhD in BroScience?
Alright guys, don those sleeveless lABcoats and weigh in on this. I'm hearing that the fiber in fiberone snacks is not good for you because it's chicory or something. I'm also hearing that artificial sweeteners like splenda are not good for you. Who's checked up on these? And if they're so bad, what's a good alternative.…

Vegetables to go with pasta sauce?
I'm not the greatest cook, so I can't make anything super complicated. Today I thought I'd try some skinless, boneless chicken with some whole wheat spaghetti and pasta sauce. I already have a glass of pasta sauce, but it accoured to me that I could easily add a bit of vegetables to the pasta sauce. What would you suggest?…

Middle of the Night Sugar Cravings
I am a bit baffled by an almost uncontrollable urge to eat or drink something sweet in the middle of the night. Usually it's about 3am or 4am when I awake and then I can easily eat an entire carton of ice cream. (Ben & Jerry's size) I've even been eating peanut butter with a spoon. I've tried having an apple before bed but…

Cheat day?
Saturdays have been my cheat day where I can eat whatever I have been craving for the week that I couldn't eat. Normally, I'd eat things like yeasty dinner rolls or donuts (I know, terrible.), but I'm starting to see better results on the scale now and I don't want to set myself back a couple pounds for the new week to…

Should I be focusing on calories or protein/carbs/fat?

Carb, Protein, Fat Percentages
I've been seeing a few different suggestions, and I just want to get some input based on what I'm doing. I'm currently at 235lb (started at 245) and I'm 5'9. I do an hour of cardio a day 6 days a week (elliptical and bike alternating days) and 3 days a week I do an arm strength training routine at home along with crunches…

Dinner out with hubby
Mike and I tried a new place tonight and as much as I was looking forward to it, I was dreading the calories I would most likely consume. It isn't a chain, so I didn't have the benefit of looking up the detrimental calorie count before hand. Turns out, it was easy to be reasonably good. I had a blackened shrimp wrap with…
