calorie intake while sick
I'm used to eating at a deficit of 500 to 1000 calories. My activity level is way down right now and I'm sick -- wondering what has worked for other people? I'm thinking I should eat my sedentary TDEE till I'm over whatever this is.

Question about bread and butter pickles
Does the nutritional value on a jar of bread and butter pickles include just the pickle pieces, or the pickle pieces plus the liquid (which is loaded with sugar and salt)? If the latter, any guess on how to calculate for JUST the pickle pieces? I am sure the pickle pieces pick up SOME of the sugar and salt in the liquid,…

Calcium/magnesium advice!
Hi everyone. I suspect I have a calcium deficiency and after looking at the nutrient details I can see my large glass of milk is only 1% of my RDA! I have tracked a fair bit of broccoli for dinner and its still only at 14%! Can anyone suggest some alternative calcium loaded foods I can add to my diet please? Thanks! :)

New way to cook eggs
I found this on Pinterest and wanted to share. To make hard-cooked eggs you can bake the in the oven(I put them in muffin tins with the shell on). Place them in the oven for 30 min at 325 degrees. They say they are creamier and less smelly! I just like to make them this way in the morning and set my timer while I am waking…

Minimum calories that are enough regardless of exercise
MFP usually gives me a warning when my net calories are too low after exercise and I close out my diary for the day. This happens even if I'm just short 100 calories. But, I've noticed something lately. On days when I've had big calorie burns, I can be short net 500+ calories. No warning that I am burning too little is…

Logging gum?
This may sound like a ridiculous question to some but I enjoy chewing gum (sugar free). Do you log your gum in the food diary? Each piece is about 5 calories and if you eat a whole pack it may be 50 calories or so. It does make sense to do since it is calories just curious to hear thoughts on it.

What does net calories mean?
Hi I've been on MFP for almost a month. I did read the instructions of using your net calories when you exercise, but really does that mean I can eat the rest of the calories? There are times when I do a double workout during the weekend or on a particular day and I will have about 500-900 calories left over. When I close…

Low fat, high calorie/protein (raw) food?
I've only been tracking my diet 2 days, but I can already see a trend - before I even get close to my recommended calorie intake, I'm already over in fat. Things like avocados, veggie and fruit oils, nuts, etc, are an essential part of my diet (in addition to making my hair soft and shiny!), so I can't give them up. But…

Getting Over Binge Eating with Controlled Spike Day
Alright, I'm trying to diet. I've been doing it for a couple of years now but it's getting harder. Now that I've graduated from college, I'm hoping it'll get a bit easier again. I weigh 163 presently and am 5'10. I want to get to 150. I'm definitely a mesomorph and I've been losing the same 10-15 since August. I'm doing…
