I have been drinking these during Lent as I fast. I am wanting to know if by fasting for Lent and drinking these will do harm to my metabolism. I drink 8 ounces at 7am, 8 ounces at 10:30am, another 8 ounces at 12:45pm, 8 ounces at 3:30pm, and then have a small, healthy dinner at sundown. Any advice would be very helpful!…

Great Healthy Cookbooks
I think one of the worse things when eating healthier is cutting out certain foods. I recommend "Cook this not That". It's part of the "Eat This Not That" series. There a recipes around 300-400 calories that are as good and better than resteraunt food for hundreds of calories less.I made a Patty Melt that was only 300…

Would you consider this fast food?
Here's my little question. If you eat strictly from a fast food joint's "healthy" menu (I use that term loosely), would you consider that fast food or not simply because it's on the healthy menu. For example, when I eat Jack in the Box, I always choose a Fajita Pita, fruit smoothie or Teriyaki bowl, for example. Rubio's…

SODIUM - Detrimental to Weight Loss, or Just Bad For you ove
I've been doing really well on my calories, carbs and fat but it's the sodium that's getting me! I never realized that some things that aren't even "salty" have so much sodium! On days where I'm having trouble meeting my minimum calories I'll go to add a snack only to find out it puts me over in my sodium! So what's more…

Spike in Calories?
So I have heard that if you have a decent spike in your calorie intake one day of the week it can actually boost your metabolism. Does anyone know if this is correct? I've been dieting and exercising for about 3 months now and I'm still just at 1 pound a week...sometimes 2. I've also hit a lot of plateaus. I take in…

NUTS! Good or not??
Ok, so I went to a local cafe for my lunch and tried to pick the best choice. I had a field green salad with dried cranberries, walnuts and grilled chicken - I even skipped the cheese. Falling into a rut...
I've been here on the site for just a couple of weeks. Prior to that, I had had a couple weeks of counting calories/carbs/protein by hand. MFP Carb count VS Net Carbs
When looking into different diets and the carb craze that came about I wondered this: Does the carb number that MFP shows I should intake take into account the fiber? Atkins main point is the "Net Carbs" Which is your total carb intake minus the fiber intake. So if I intake 214 g carbs, that shows me over MFP…
