Low Sodium
I have just started my journey to watching my sodium. Holy Cow! I thought a salad from chickfila would be ok. The sodium in it is 2200 without any dressing. Anyone else trying to fight the sodium consumption and how are you doing it? I work 2 jobs and finding the time to consistently meal prep is a challenge and then when…

Hitting calories and macros
My biggest challenge to hitting my calories and macros is breakfast, I've never been much of a breakfast person unless in a hotel and maximising the cooked breakfast. Can anyone recommend simple breakfasts that will hit 500/600 calories with high protein. Ideally something simple enough to eat most mornings with as little…

Help figuring calories
I made a "quinoa, black bean, corn filling for making my lunch into a wrap. I used 1 cup of quinoa, can of corn, can of black beans. Can someone help me figure the calories? All that made a HUGE batch. I figure I will get about 12 one half cup servings. I just want to compare what I got calorie wise vs what others get. Yes…

Smaller Sized Coffee Creamers
Anyone know of any lower calorie coffee creamers that come in smaller sizes? I don't drink coffee everyday, so my creamer often goes bad before I can finish it all (24 oz!). I feel like I'm wasting a lot of money buying the Chobani coffee creamer, but it is so good and fits within my calories for the day. I've tried using…

A serving is WHAT????
Starting a space for the frustration when a “serving” is so ridiculously small it feels pointless. I’ll start- 140 calories per serving sounds great until you realize it’s NINE CHIPS. Has anyone ever eaten just 9 chips????

Losing weight when you don’t live alone
So long story short, I got out of a not healthy ending relationship and for a short time was living by myself and lost 25-30 pounds. My mom was diagnosed with cancer and couldn’t work during treatments and I’ve moved in with her. It’s been about a year and a half. The first six months I maintained my weight mostly. She was…

How do you stay within your calorie budget?
I tend to be quite greedy and don't want to stop eating. I'm not sure how to stretch my calories out and what changes to make. My tendancy is to make a goal to burn thousands of calories a day but it hasn't been sustainable. I'm like, yep, I'm do 15,000 steps everyday, but then I wake up and I don't want to do it. I can't…

Visual Macros
Not sure where else to post this as there is not a category for kudos to MFO Tech support. I did post it to my original blog post but want it to be seen by more people. It's important that people know they are appreciated for their work! I posted on Aug 30, 2022 that I was not able to use the turn sideways feature to see…

Fluid intake
I've downloaded an app to monitor my fluid intake and to remind me. I don't drink nearly enough. Ive tried to get it to work on here but cant seem to. I take a 2 litre bottle of squash to work and pretty much bring it home full🤦♀️🤦♀️. My question is does coffee count as fluid intake? I've seen conflicting information on…

Disparity Between % and Grams
My lunch macros are confusing. The pie chart says - carbs-8%, protein-29%, fats-63%. But the total grams per item - carbs-5g, protein-19g, fats-18g. If the grams for protein and fats are only one point difference, why is the fat more than twice % ?? Must be a logical scientific reason for this disparity!

Question re: calories and nutrition
So I am in the process of losing quite a bit of weight. I have been restricting my calories to between 1200-1400 or so and doing a lot of exercise so my “net calories” are usually quite low. The question is, from a nutrition standpoint, can I ignore the fact that I may be burning off much of these calories since my body…

Caloric Adjustment from Protein?
I read that around 20-30% of calories of protein get burned in the digestive process. I'm wondering if you have to adjust for this when aiming at a caloric goal. I eat about 150 grams of protein a day. So that's 600 calories coming from protein. So 120 to 200 of those are getting burned in the digestive process. So, for…

Realistic sugar goal
Currently my sugar goal is something crazy like 32g which I double just with my morning smoothie. I've been told before to put my sugar goal up but I don't know what to put it up to? If you do use MFP sugar recommendations then how do you stay below it? EDIT: all of the sugar in my breakfast is natural sugars from fruit…

Sugar and Carbs
Hi I have been using mfp for a while now and have been wondering why the sugar and carbohydrates are calculated seperatly. If sugar is broken down into glucose(carbohydrate) then surely the sugar should be included into the carbohydrate calculation and carry a an energy value or caloric value and not separate from the…

More micronutrients info should be included
Micronutrients are just equally important as the macro ones. Especially among muscle building guys, sometimes we always have chicken breasts for proteins, lack of food diversity (or just me?) Easy to forget and miss the vitamins and minerals needs. Just discovered lack of iron during blood donation lol

My bad habit - eating "seconds"
I have a bad habit, one that my mom has told me I have had since childhood. It doesn't really matter how much food is on my plate, I pretty much always want to eat a second portion of food at dinner time. (sometimes a 3rd when I was little). It doesn't matter if the food is something delicious and heavy, or if it is the…
