Should I eat a lot of calories one day a week?
I'm 58 years old. I have lost 8.5 lbs since September 8, by cutting back on how much I eat and doing more exercise. I have a BMI of 28.5. It really hasn't been that difficult. But to get to a BMI of 24, I need to lose 34.5 more pounds. My understanding of the eat-a-lot-one-day-a-week thing is to prevent your body's…

How do I know how much carbs, fat and protein I should be eating?
I’m confused on how much protein, carbs and fat I should be eating to lose weight? I know more protein in the diet is a good thing for fat loss but how much is too much? I’m having a hard time trying to find a way to calculate this. Any help or advice is appreciated!

Scale Trust Issues
I’m skeptical about my scale. I don’t totally trust it. It’s on a thin carpet, (the floors in my bathroom are slanted, where my scale gives me 3 TOTALLY different readings within a minute in there) but its placement (on the rug) is the only thing that keeps me weighing in daily. It’s stayed in the same spot for 3 months…

I know how to do it and do it well, it's just so hard to keep it up. If anyone has any advice for continuity and not being waylaid by life, please let me…

How to love yourself at current weight...
I'm not giving up and I'm not happy with my current body, but... I need to be able to look in the mirror UNTIL I hit my goal weight. I'm intermittent fasting and working to lose weight. But it's a process. And though I'm not happy with where I am on the scale, I need to work on being "content" between the start and end…

So kind of confused as to what this app/site is for really but yeah. I started taking several medications about 2 years ago for my mental health and in 2 months I gained 70 pounds! I've always been 145 so it's been very disheartening and embarrassing. So hoping to loose at least most of it and get back to the old me

Hitting a way
I’m 5 weeks into my weight loss, and this week it feels like I’m hitting a wall. Each week prior I’d lose 2-3 pounds or more, but this week I’ve gain 2 pounds, even though I’ve been well under my calorie limit. Anyone else experience this? And do you just keep going and will eventually break through???

So frustrating
I went on a mini vacation, three days and I’m up 7 pounds. I know most of it is probably water weight but still hard to see when it took me so long to lose those 7 pounds. I wish people who don’t struggle with weight could understand how discouraging that part is.

Failure to maintain strains my brain
Excuses: - Moved into new house, everything's in boxes, just getting things set up - Got a new puppy, wakes me up at 5:45AM, can't leave him alone, too little to take on longer walks, interrupts any attempt to exercise at home (all with great puppy joy) - Had a couple of injuries (foot and shoulder) - My regular pool…

Benefits of a Photo Diary of Meals

A comment about your weight that still bothers you...
I have been thinking about my goals as I make this journey and I have decided that one is going to be based on a comment that was made to me over 20 years ago. When I was a teenager, I had just started to gain weight and my step-mother (enough said) told me that I couldn't wear my hair short because it made my head look…

Thinning hair, anyone?
I normally have very thick hair or, at least, a lot of it. Once or twice in the past I've noticed a thinning problem; the last time, it was probably related to a major medical event and medication. Also, I'm in my early 60s and post-menopausal, so hair changes are not unusual. But I've been tracking food regularly for the…
