Weight Maintenance Issues
I have been maintaining for 8 years now after a 70lb weight loss. Initially, I was maintaining between 135-140 with strict calorie counting. I jumped into running about 4 years ago (I enjoyed doing this once or twice a week for three miles per day on rest days) and fell a bit and have been fluctuating from 130-135 ever…

Weight creep
I have been maintaining just below 119.9 for years. It is getting more difficult. My weight was slightly over 120 today. I am eating more snacks - chips, cheese, wine and it is having an effect. I exercise ( weight, cycle, walking) lots daily . The app says when I add in the exercise that I should not be gaining, however I…

Maintenance at Christmas
I'm sure there have been a million of these threads, but I thought I would share my plan for Christmas and invite any advice from more experienced maintainers. This is my first Christmas in calorie counted maintenance, so it's a new experience for me. My plan is: Keep Christmas eating limited to the three days of Christmas…

Do you try to gain weight back when you slip below your maintenance range?
I've had a few times where I have slipped below my maintenance range, and then just set a new, lower one. But I know I can't keep doing that forever. After a panic about a month back where my weight spiked up, I have settled into a slow loss again. But the idea of trying to put weight on - even just a few pounds - is quite…

Tired of weight fluctuations
I know it's normal, but because I'm on an SSRI (with a tendency towards anxiety anyway), I get worried when I see the scale go up. For example, according to my scale I went up more than 3 pounds since last week. Now I know that it is not physically possible to gain 3 actual pounds based on my food/activity level, but as a…

Maintaining weight whilst reducing body fat percentage.
Is it actually possible for a person to reduce their body fat percentage whilst maintaining the same weight? My weight is currently 89.3 kg, my BMI is 24.2 and my body fat percentage is 15.3%. Whilst I am happy with my body weight and BMI, I would like to bring my body fat percentage down to 13%. Does this automatically…

I try to be optimistic, but
I'm probably at my lowest weight for the rest of the year right now. I might not gain much, but I'll probably gain something. I am not brave enough to step in a gym or pool until something really changes.

My first real "mistake" in maintenance
I've been maintaining 130-135-ish for almost 2 years now, Had my ups and downs but has been surprisingly easy in the end. Then late Oct hit, I stopped really paying attention to my eating as much. One icecream bar turned into icecream bars every night, The morning coffee with milk turned into coffee with creamer. Little…

How do you decide what your "normal/ideal" is?
I was a fat teenager (BMI 36-37), up and down in my 20s (tho never back to that level of obese, mostly hovered around BMI 26-28) I've tried maintaining once before, when I hit roughly the same weight I'm at now (53-55kg at 159.5cm), and then had dental issues and lost down to 48kg. Then I gained 20kg (could finally eat…

How did you pick your maintenance weight?
I originally set my goal weight as the highest number in the “healthy” BMI category (195 lbs). I’m a little over 6’2” tall. When I got there I felt that I actually looked and felt better at about 10 lbs more. Some of me is loose skin - I did lose >110 lbs. So I stayed at around 202 -205for many months. Gained the dreaded…

Reverse dieting need help!
So I recently lost some weight and my current calorie intake a day is 1100. I want to start reverse dieting to get my calories back up. If my resting metabolic rate is 1400, can I safely start eating 1400 calories without gaining weight or do I need to work my way up from 1100?

Activity level
High! Hoping someone can help. I am trying to maintain my weight but have lost 2 pounds. I’m not sure if I have my activity level set correctly. I’m a pilates instructor and soo on average 2 classes 5 days per week and one on a Saturday. Alongside this I usually do more high intensity workouts (barre, weights, treadmill)…

I have questions about recomping that I couldn't find in threads
So I have been reading about recomping and I have these questions. 1. When you are recomping, how do you gauge your calories and macros? What changes do you make as opposed to cutting or bulking when it comes to recomping? 2. Do you check your weight daily/regularly and the median seems same but your lifts improve? What do…

Besides keeping track of calories, what else are you doing to maintain your overall health?
I have gotten better about eating vegetables, taking walks, and cutting out toxic relationships. I also save watching/reading the news for right before a workout- I find it so aggravating.

Reached target weight
I've finally reached my target weight of 62kg (about 137lb) having lost 16kg (35lb)! I've gone from a UK size 16 to size 8 I am super excited but also a bit nervous about adjusting my diet to maintain rather than lose weight, as I don't want to put all the weight back on again. Does anyone have any tips or words of wisdom?

Reference Body Weight and Protein
forgive me because I am a total ignoramous and today is the first time I even heard the term "Reference Body Weight" up to this point I thought you were supposed to compute how much protein you need to maintain your current body weight based on your actual body weight so first I came across this YouTube video How much…

How to not feel like it's one long endless diet.
I hit maintenance back in May, but I'm struggling. I'm still having to track and weigh almost daily or I'll creep up a lb or two. I just feel like I'm on one super, long endless diet. The maintenance level of calories for me feels like deprivation for sure. I know it helps when I load up on the protein, but this is not…

Little cooking oil calories
I feel stupid for asking lol Anyway, I used 3 tbsps of cooking oil, which equals 360 calories; for the WHOLE big meal, served for 7-8 people in a really big pot. Do these calories matter much in counting ? How do I add them when counting?

Maintaining
I have started to maintain due to losing 21kg over 10 months and I have been adding 100 calories from 2 weeks ago, so I’ve added 200 already, from 1550 to 1750 calories a day and when I have done a weekly weigh in I have seen a 0.6kg weight increase! I am really stressing about this and was wondering if there is any advice…

What I Love About Being in Maintenance
1) Weighing what I'm "supposed" to weigh; 2) Fitting in to all of my pretty clothes again; 3) Not feeling ashamed of my appearance and having to wrestle with myself to go places; 4) Feeling a lot better physically, not just emotionally; 5) Being able to eat as much as 400 calories in a meal and still program in snacks and…

Taking a break from logging after 8 years
Greetings All - I am taking a break from logging. I logged every single thing I ate for over 3000 days. I lost my goal of 35 pounds, dropped a few pounds and gained a bit but came back to that range for almost all of the last 8 years. I am still in that zone now (BMI, 22.7). It's probably been more than a year since…

Weight suddenly gone crazy
A week ago I put my calories up by 50 calories. I have been putting my calories up by 50 or 100 every week or two for a while, to try and stop my weight from trending downward, as I hit my target weight a while ago. Suddenly, after the last 50 calorie increase, my weight has gone crazy. I tried not to panic the first day…

Fat Macro
As a vegetarian, my protein comes from nuts, dairy, tofu, and added protein powder. I buy everything low-fat and low-sodium, but I have gone over my fat macro every single day in the two months since I've been on transition and then maintenance, because these sources are all rather high in fat even in the reduced version.…
