Tough Time
I'm having a bit of a tough time now that I am at maintenance. Lost 50 lb total and all the doctors and websites say that for 5'8 140 is a great weight but I still see so much fat. I know I need to do weight exercises in order to change that but I find myself still eating at a deficit because I am too scared to eat at…

After reaching goal weight
I have started this whole life style change process a couple weeks ago and have really felt the positive effects of not only the exercise but the feeling of not always being so full I want to puke. I look forward to finally reaching my goal weight and I was wondering if anyone has any success stories to share, when you…

Why doesn't MFP change my calories when I reach my goal
I'm below my goal weight, but MFP still has me at the same calorie goal. How do I get it to put me on maintenance?

Slowing down weight loss to ease into maintenance. Opinions?
I'm looking to maintain for life once I get to my goal (another 10-15 pounds), so I want to transition out of the "all or nothing mentality" that I've been in for years. By all or nothing, I mean that I'm either all-out going at diet and fitness, or all-out overeating (though not binging since I don't have that problem,…

Setting myself up for failure?
Hi everyone. I haven't quite reached my goal yet, but since it's become so damn hard and I don't want to lose any more muscle than I already have, I've decided to maintain. The problem is, I like food, a lot. So in light of this likeness I decided I'd try an experiment and raise my maintenance calories by a bit to see if…

Worried about maintaining
I am actually still 11 lbs away from maintenance, but I'm excited to move on from "always trying to lose weight". I got to my goal weight 4 years ago on WW. The WW meetings in my area aren't really set up for those who are maintaining. I was told "well, you just keep adding and taking away until you figure it out." No one…

trying to figure out maintaining weight
I have been maintaining since July. This is what I do. I eat good during the week but weekends I have time to get pizza, Chinese, fast food. We are always going and eating out. So then I gain 3-4 lbs and have to work like the devil at the first of the week at the gym to get it off and eat less. I love my pizza and Chinese…

Starting Again
I haven't gained back all my weight but I was religiously weighing in between 131 - 133 lbs, and now I've been weighing in between 135-138 lbs. I haven't been tracking or logging foods and have been cheating a fair amount, more than I should have. I haven't been exercising daily (no running since I have asthma and it's…

What the? Where's my topic?
Last week, I started a topic on maintaining your weight after losing on a 1200 calorie plan. I've just got back from hiking in Australia where I had no net access. I came on to check for replies and the topic is gone! It's still listed under "My Topics" but it's obviously been deleted. There were over 60 replies which I'd…

When to stop?
I'm 5' 4", and am currently 121lbs. I've lost around 35 pounds since the start of summer because I actually had time to take care of myself with less stress from school. Now I'm a freshman in college, and I'm really worried about gaining the weight back. It isn't anything about college (I lost the last 15 pounds since…

Maintenance yo-yo
This seems to be the way I've been maintaining: Go on a cheating streak (usually a weekend) --> gain 3-6lb (includes water) --> freak out --> get back to counting and eating 1,500 net --> lose the weight by the end of the week --> Start weekend again. Is this normal?

Lost and Maintaining
I started using MFP during the last part of my Insanity workout. It was THE key to Losing and now Maintaining my goal weight. I have lost over 40lbs! By following the MFP app nutrition counter and staying within my calorie goal, I had lost an additional 10lbs from my goal weight. I have not done any more serious exercising…

Those last 15 pounds..
I started my weight loss journey in May. Since May, I have lost 36 pound (I'm 5"7', starting weight 186 pound, currently 150 pounds). I was curious for anyone who has achieved their goal weight, how difficult was it to loose those last 15 pounds? And how long did it take you to achieve those last few pounds?

Recommend a good HRM?
I'm 8 lbs from my goal weight and the idea of maintaining seems daunting, especially with the holidays right around the corner. While I haven't had any issue losing weight, I wanted a more accurate idea of just how much I am burning and my requirements to sustain my goal weight. Would you recommend a HRM or just guess…

What should I expect when I move to maintenence?
Hi everyone! I have been on my weightloss journey for approximately 5 months now and am finally at a place where I really like how my body looks. Happy maintaining
Hiya, I was just wondering if anyone else out there is experiencing the same. I've been maintaining my weight now for about 4-5 months, I'm still 4-6lbs from my goal weight, but no matter what I do those scales just won't budge. I'm now back at the weight I always was in my twenties, do you think I've found a weight my…

Hello everyone
I'm new to this website and first want to say it is such a great website. Last November I started to loose weight. I was probably around 265 now down to 152. I'm a male in my 20s. I still feel like I look fat. I think it's because I lost the weight quickly. I went to a nutritionist and I'm at the right weight for my…

How did you decide on your maintenance weight?
I've lost 24 pounds and reached my first goal of "normal" BMI a few pounds ago. Although I'm thrilled with this loss, I'd still like to lose more weight mainly because my stomach is still so flabby. That's where all my weight goes, plus I had a baby...6 years ago  I'm not sure what my ideal weight would be, but I…

Cals moving to maintenance
Hi everyone, I've hit my goal (25lb lost in 6 months) and am ready to start maintenance... My question is do you a) sudden jump - decide one day to eat mainenance? or b) add in 100-200 cals every day or two over a week or two until you get there? I hear that its likely going into maint will mean an up to 5lb increase as…
