My husband is a Marine, and is on a 40 day deployment:brokenheart: ....Returns for two weeks  The leaves for a nine month deployment  Along with my medicine I take, I could barely muster a handful of olives and cherry tomatoes from my…

Indulged myself tonight.
Well today my company had a meeting and for the SECOND time this year, due to the economy all employees are getting 5% less of their salary.  I am a kitchen designer for a building products company and no doubt we have been hit hard, but OYE VEY, I thought it was getting better! Anyway, on my way home from work…

MFP as my internet home page
I recently set MFP as my default home page for my internet browser. Everytime I log on to my computer to check Facebook or go surfing, BAM!!!!!!! There is my profile with my calorie count for the day. It's been keeping me on track by serving as a reminder every few hours about what my goal each day is. It has made a pretty…

The crisis of yesterday...
...is the joke of tomorrow. That's all I wanted to say  If you happen to slip or misstep in achieving your goals don't use that slip or misstep to justify quitting or putting out less effort. Slips and missteps are inevitable for everyone there is no such thing as a constant linear progression in making fitness…

Extreme Low
Well, I was just wondering if anyone else feels the same or has been through this. I'm currently 165lb as of today. Two weeks ago, I was 155lb. I've been yo-yoing like this for the last 4 months. I do extremely well (food, exercise, cut alcohol). Then all of the sudden- I forget that I am working towards a goal and start…

Medication
I was recently put on a steroid to help with strep throat like illness, and that medication made me gain 10 pounds! I thought it was something that I was doing wrong, and I watched my weight creep up and up, and then three days after I stopped taking it, I went from 170 to 161.5! I wasn't doing as terrible as I thought.

The Final Meltdown 8.6.09
Good morning! Yay! 2 more pounds! woo hoo! It looks like I am finally off the plateau... well, having said that, I will probably be up next week! (fickle fat) I have been horrible about the gym since I got back from the back to back Vegas/camping trip. But I have done pretty well in the food selections and calorie intake.…

Enough With the Excuses
Don't think. Just do it. The next time your mind starts doing the crazy talk, like, "Should I go to the gym," or, "Should I run that mile," just do it. Sometimes, coming up with excuses takes as much energy as just plowing through your workout. Stand up for yourself and get healthy. (Never Say Diet 8.6.09)

Daily Check In 8/5/09
Did you stay within your nutritional goals? YES! Did I reach yesterday's personal goal? Yes What did I do yesterday that I am proud of? Went on a 13mi bike ride and burned 700 calories! What would I have done differently? Not eaten so many chips and quac at dinner. I had the calories for it, but I didn't need to do that.…

Old self conscious habits die hard
I wore a sleeveless shirt to work today with a sweater....I was going for my walk and it was too hot for the sweater so I prepared to take it off. Before I lost any weight I NEVER wore sleeveless stuff....I do admit my arms look much better than they used to and I even think I look pretty darn good in tanks and stuff, but…

FRUSTRATED!!!
This has nothing to do with weight loss. I just need to vent. My finace is in the military and we decided a long time ago that we would get married "on paper" this fall and just save our money and have our wedding as planned next June when he comes back from deployment. We didn't tell anyone about this and we weren't…

So frustrating!
Go out to eat with my family...think I am choosing somewhat wisely(splurge but not too crazy)...come home and find out the meal was over 1000 calories! It will be real nice when the calorie counts on the menu (in the restaurant not just online) are published everywhere. I don't think they should stop offering the "junk".…

Surprise Calories
I made what I THOUGHT was a healthy lunch, then when I entered in all of the food items the whole meal came out to be my total calories for the day. So with lunch I went over by about 75 calories for the day. Yikes. And, I hadnt planed on weighing myself and just go off of how I felt but my aunt wanted to see my progress…

Calorie confusion!
Okay, so I've notice the scale hasn't really been moving in the past couple of weeks. This sucks, because I'm about 8 pounds from reaching my first goal, but feel like I won't make it! Anyway, I was posting because I'm a bit confused on calories. I work out about 4 times a week, but don't usually eat my workout calories.…

If only...
...there was no such thing as 7:00pm to 10:00pm. I would be skinny if those hours didn't exist. I don't like to eat. Wait...let me rephrase that. I don't like to eat healthy foods - there are few healthy foods that I actually enjoy: some fruits, peanut butter (if you can call that "healthy"), whole grains but I really…

Getting moving
I know that the only time I can walk is very early in the morning, before everyone wakes up. I just cannot get myself out of bed! For those of you that do, how do you do it? I was in bed by ten last night, I even made myself take a nap yesterday so that I would need less sleep. Still, I just couldn't get moving. Any advice?

I needed to read this today. Hope it helps you too.
One more reason why I've fallen in love with Live Well 360. Today is the day that I'm getting back on the wagon and coming across this definitely made me feel better about it. Hope this makes you feel enlightened as well. http://livewell360.com/2009/08/the-secret-to-fat-loss-the-ultimate-how-to/

Been staying within my calories, and have been working out very religiously....any suggestions I am frustrated. Andrea

Any Other Ladies Have This Problem Every Month?
Ugghhh.... I just keep telling myself, "If I can make it this week, I will be fine!" So my monthly "visitor" came 2 days ago. I just started on this new lifestyle of fitness and eating well 3 weeks ago. In the past when I was "dieting" and my period came it all went out the window since physical activity causes really bad…

Excited!...and NERVOUS!
Ok, so I am going home on leave tomorrow for two weeks- yay! So I am super excited about that, because I haven't seen my family (other than when my little girl was born) in over a year. Now for the nervous part- I am so scared about gaining weight while I am out there. I come from an Italian family who loves to cook…

Daily Check In 8/4/09
Did you stay within your nutritional goals? YES! With 25 to spare! Did I reach yesterday's personal goal? Yes What did I do yesterday that I am proud of? I hadn't exercised at all and at 9pm, when I really wanted to be in bed, I put my treadmill on an incline and walked 30 min. I was over my calories by 225, so I burned…
