3 month progress
It's been 3 months since I started my 'Happy 50th Birthday" journey. I've lost 15 lbs so far - would love to lose 10 more. I lose very slowly now - but consistently. Sometimes it takes me 2 weeks to lose 1 1/2 lbs and see it stay gone. I walk 3 miles a day (mostly outside) unless it's raining, then it's the treadmill, and…

I Made it through a party yesterday...
...by holding myself accountable. I hosted a party yesterday that called for snacks only, i.e. not lunch or dinner. I had all kinds of chips and dips, deviled eggs, cheese and crackers and cupcakes. I managed to maintain my eating cool and after everyone left, rushed to enter my food into MFP. It really helped. I also…

My husband decided to treat me to a new outfit today to celebrate my hard work and he told me to pick any store I wanted. I decided to go to a Rue21 which is a small clothing store with more trendy choices. We went to the store started looking around and my husband pulled me to the jeans wall. He looked at me and said hey…

Ran my first 10K today!
My friend and I both ran our first 10K together. We finished together in 1:02:07. It was such a great feeling! We'd both only done 5Ks to this point. Plus, the best part IMO was the end. I grew up a Notre Dame fan (born and raised), and the finish line was inside ND stadium. While we ran through the famous tunnel, they…

I have been logging on the MFP for over 155 days and with a 5 day workout schedule, I have shed 68 pounds. I could have not done it without the help of my wife ALHINT and MFP. We log our daily food consumption and workouts and she finds some very healthy and delicious meals through out the internet. I started out in…

It has made such a huge difference just keeing my head somewhere besides thinking about food... before I always thought…

Logged for 150 days in a row - I'm sticking to it this time!
Hi everyone, I was on MFP in November 2008 and logged on and off for a few months, lost about 15lb but didn't stick with it. In January of this year my husband and I joined the X-Weighted National Challenge (TV show here in Canada sort of like Biggest Loser) and I signed back onto MFP the first day of the challenge and…

My fat backside thanks you all :)
I just joined MFP a week or so ago after a few hit and misses with weight loss over the past year or so. I've always been the chubby kid who refused to admit that losing weight would be hard and take time. But now, I decided to take it seriously. I have a fantastic boyfriend who got a gym membership with me and is also…

Oh the little things in life :)
After nagging and nagging my mother to go through her clothes and get rid of some of them she finally listened and today we went through a pretty good pile of clothes. I grabbed a few pairs of workout shorts and shirts and I found this pair of white shorts that were sized 18. Well about 3 weeks ago I went to Wal-mart and…

Nice compliment!
I was getting ready to go for a drink with my boyfriend. I put on a shirt that I had bought months ago and never worn as it was not flattering in the midsection. It looked alright so i went with it. My boyfriend complimented me, saying the shirt made me look very lean around the middle. After a moment he corrected himself,…

Is this really me?
I tried on this dress this morning that i'm wearing to a wedding on Friday. I took a picture with my cell phone to show me friend, e-mailed it to myself, and i'm looking at it, and I don't believe that is me. Like, that is my body. I mean I know I have lost weight, obviously can feel the difference, but I really didn't SEE…

Now that wasn't so hard after all!
For the first time tonight, I asked for a to-go container as soon as my dinner came, and immediately boxed up half my meal before I took a single bite. I got a couple of strange queries from the wait staff, but I proudly defended my strategy! And you know what? I felt completely satiated after eating only half my meal…

Martial Artists - What's changed for you?
Alright all you martial artists out there - I don't care if you study tai chi, practice MMA, play judo, or whatever else you do. I want to hear how MFP and losing weight in general have changed your martial arts practice. I am a brown belt (san kyu) in aikido. I have noticed a big difference in my ukemi (rolls) and in my…

"You've only bloody gone and done it!"
I wanted to share this mini success. My boyfriend's always found it a little difficult to express his support for me during my weight loss because he doesn't want to sound mean. Last night in his slightly drunken, euphoric (we'd just been to a comedy club so he had laughed and grinned for about 2 hours straight) state, he…

What a difference 25lbs makes!
I was invited to attend a employee appreciation dinner last night for work. It was a business casual type catered dinner at a local yatch club. Normaly I would have stressed all week about what I would wear and how I would do my hair so I can at least look and feel decent enough to show up. Then sit there uncomfortable all…

Name Calling that felt GOOD
Today I received an email from someone that I know professionally and personally. The email was work related, but at the end she wrote, "By the way saw your latest fb profile pic and you look awesome, you skinny *****!" When I responded to the email I simply signed it.... Sincerely, Skinny *****
