20 pounds down!
On May 4th I stepped on the scale and realized I was closer to 400 pounds than I'd ever been: 360. I decided that I need to be kinder to myself and stop eating the things that made me feel weighed down, bloated, tired, and gross. I really focused on how foods made me feel rather than thinking of them in terms of "good…

1st goal met, 2nd almost there!
I have almost reached my goal weight: 29lbs down, 1 lbs to go. What makes me incredibly proud though is that I finished my first half marathon last Sunday. Trained hard for 6 months and finished in a time I never thought possible.

Lost 13% of my BW since November.
Spent last year training powerlifting and put on a lot of weight (mostly fat but also muscle). Tipped the scales at my meet in October at 205 lbs which is the heaviest I've ever weighed. Hit all my goals at my meet and decided to get lean in 2019. I'm now 179 on my way to whatever weight will put me under 15% BF (probably…

62 years old. Before and during
I’m 62. The picture in white was taken in March when DH and I celebrated our 20 year anniversary. I weighed 199 lbs ( down from 208 lbs. in September) . After seeing that terrible picture I immediately went on a diet and have so far lost 16 pounds. Current weight 183. Still need another 30 to be at healthy BMI .

Today is my 44th birthday and 5 year maintenance anniversary! (with pix)
In December 2012 I decided enough was enough and got my act together to lose weight. I lost 17 lbs on my own by walking and “eating better” then plateaued. A coworker mentioned this site and I started using it and losing weight again. I began hiking as well as walking, luckily I live in a hilly area with many trails. I had…

300
300 days is how long it took me to lose 43 lbs and go from obese to a healthy weight and reverse the health conditions that I was experiencing as a direct result of being obese. IMHO the missing “secret ingredient” to losing weight is patience... using calorie counting as a weight loss tool consistently for long enough…

Down 92 lbs: Lo-cal vs Lo-carb—my experience
This is my personal experience—that is to say, my response to 1 year on lo-cal (in 2014) and 1 year on keto (2018-2019). The simple story: I lost weight on both diets, but the lo-cal (calories-in-calories-out) diet was not sustainable: the carbs kept my appetite on a rollercoaster so I had to rely on will power alone to…

I've got cold feet...
Literally. My feet are freezing! I've lost 17 pounds so far and was having trouble seeing any difference (when you're as big as I am, 17 pounds really isn't that much) but I've noticed recently how cold my feet are all the time. I've been taking a few different meds and I thought for a bit that maybe they were causing…

First pic was 6 mths ago. Second was yesterday. Size large top and size 6 bottoms in the first pic. Size medium top and size two bottoms in the second pic. Its not a massive change physically but I feel amazing. I went from doing three sets of 3 push ups, to doing 3 sets of 15 . Plus upping all of my weights along the way.…

My 10 day low-carb challenge became a 4 week success!!
At my highest weight ever (175 at 5’3”), I started what was going to be a 10-day, 1000 calorie, 25 or less carb personal challenge to get some of this weight off. I stopped drinking wine, shopped for low carb alternatives and logged every bite of food on MFP. I also set little goals each week..... but exceeded them!…

4 months progress
Spent the first half of the year in a sort of bulk while marathon training (have put on weight but lost inches) and this is the result. I was spending around 4hours a week on upper body, got my bench 1rpm up from 45 to 56kg and my shoulder press up from 32 to 35kg. Mastered unassisted dips and am at the very lowest amount…
