Energy Drinks
I know that this question has been asked so many times. However, please indulge me. I usually drink 1 can of Monster 10 or 20 cals per can or Lo-Cal Monster for my one hour dance workout. Are energy drinks generally bad for your body? Would you die because of it? What are your thoughts? I only take about 1 a day though.…

if you go over on your calorie count, because you have had over 300 calories worth of fruit, surely that can't be unhealthy, can it? In my view I have had a very health day today (diary is accessible of you care to judge) my fruitsalad smoothie consists of a variety of fruits, yoghurt (approx 1 spoon- I use 3 spoons for…

Alcohol and weight loss
Hi everyone, Thought it would be interested to introduce alcohol to the scene as I feel it plays a huge role in weight loss. This is because 1) the calories in the alcohol itself AND then 2) the indirect effect it has on self control I know this all so well as this week at day 5 I was 1.4kg down then now at day 7 only…

Do you maintain the same calorie deficit when sick?
Hey, everyone! Have only been using MFP consistently for less than a week, and so far so good. My only concern is I caught a cold that's going around here, and I'm not sure if that means I should take it easy on the calorie restriction, or if it's okay to proceed as planned. I've got chills, aches, fatigue, cough, runny…

Reducing body fat %
So I'm at a point now where I would like to focus on reducing body fat % rather than the number on the scale. I am 5'10" and 145 and according to an online calculator am about 25.8% body fat. I would love to get down to like 18-20%. So, is there anything different I should be doing to achieve this than what one would…

How do you keep track when you live with people who don't
I live with someone and I find it truly difficult to go on a steady tracking week. If you live with anyone, how do you keep track of everything and staying motivated. I haven't been tracking for 3 days due to my hunger pangs and my roomate not being that motivated to track. I think that he has just given up and don't care…

GF Breakfast choices
Hi, i have been eating Fromage frais, seeds and honey for breakfast because toast doesn't keep me full for long, but now it is getting colder don't really fancy it anymore - what hot breakfasts do people have that are quick and easy to prepare (out of bed at six and out of the house by seven for work). thanks :-)

cleanse?
A girlfriend of mine suggested doing a cleanse. Frankly, it seems like a lot of work - buying and cooking food I don't normally eat. I'm going to lose 80 pounds and am 12 down thus far. I'm losing about 1.5 pounds per week. Has anyone had any success doing something like a cleanse? If so, what did you do?

Eating the same thing?
Is it bad to eat the same things everyday? Just curious. I wouldn't do the exact same thing, and I'd add a little variety every once in a while. What do you think are the advantages and disadvantages?

Sugar!
MFP tells me that I can only consume 34 g of sugar per day, but I find that quickly adds up throughout the day. I enjoy fruits and vegetables, and I also like to have a dessert at the end of the day - preferably some frozen yogurt. My question is, should I be worried about my sugar intake? Does it affect my weight; I'm…

Fruit?

Cardio and muscle gain... what to eat?
I've recently started gaining muscle since there's just a lil' saggy line around my waist which I'm told will only disappear with cardio. So as well as the mass of strength exercises, I'm going running every few days. I enjoy it, so i don't plan to stop even when this lil' belt has gone (yay zombie chases!) You have to be…

Dear Diary, I just broke up with FOOD!!!!!!
I have never been overweight or anything but I have always had a love hate relationship with food. For a long time I was able to eat as much as would like to a point to get myself sick with out gaining a pound. What I hated was all the older ladies in my surroundings (such as work) telling me how it will catch up with…

When to recalculate numbers??
I feel like this past week, I've had a couple questionable days with going over my 1400 calories and I did not log nearly enough exercise, yet the scale is either staying the same or going down.. Does this mean, I should up my calories more on days, I put in a really tough work out? I don't want to eat a lot of calories…

High Protein for Weight Loss??
I've read a lot about high protein and it's benefits - what I'm not clear on is how beneficial it would be to me. I'm more interested in losing weight than "bulking up". I'm not a weight lifter and cannot see that in my future. I do however want to be healthy more than I want to be skinny. I'm 44 years old, 211 pounds…
