Threshold Weight
I have posted a similar thread, but this is more specific and was wondering what people who have succeeded at maintaining have to think about it. This is the third time in my life (about every decade of my adult life) where I have lost a significant amount of weight. The two other times lasted about two years before I let…

Can you maintain your weight by not tracking food
can you maintain your weight by not counting calories and tracking every bite you take as long as you keep up with exercise? When I was in my late teens and 20's andmid 20's .I would loose weight by just going to the gym without watching my diet.I would loose until I reach a healthy weight and just stop loosing and…

Is this considered a binge?
Okay, so I am trying to maintain my weight and I'm used to eating 1200 calories, but I'm trying to up them. This morning for breakfast, I was planning on having just one bowl of cheerios w/o milk (milk and me don't go very well together) and a banana. That would have been 205 calories. Buut I was still hungry (I think) and…

Confirm suspicions
I stopped losing weight at the end of December, I went from 150lb to 120lb from May until then and have maintained within +/-2.5lb ever since. I'm 5'3.5. I now log about 1650 calories per day on lazy days and about 1800 on active ones - is that /really/ my maintenance? It seems low. I still measure but admit I'm getting a…

Advice for maintaining my weight?
I weighed myself today at 101 pounds, and I want to maintain that. I don't want to lose weight because then I'll be too skinny, and if I gain anything else, I'll be overweight for my age and height, even though my BMI says I'm normal. Anyways, the question is, how can I maintain that through my diet and exercise?

Maintainance means more food????
what's your maintanance calories? I can't wait to reach my goal which means I will get to eat more than eating at deficit. I will still track to make sure I eat enough or to not overeat.

A shoe question for people who have lost weight.
When I was in high school I wore a size 7-71/2 women's shoe. Now in my 40s I am wearing a 71/2-8, but in men's for the width. My question is, if I lose weight, can I look forward to not wearing men's shoes anymore, or are my feet forever widened? Thanks!

Log For Life?!
I'd like to start by saying that MFP has been a major tool in my weight loss journey. I started two years ago, and for the first year I dropped 25 pounds by simply eating less and moving more. I plateaued for a while, and when I discovered MFP I dropped an additional 20 pounds in about 4 months. It helped me greatly, BUT I…

Hi Everyone, I am hoping for some help, i managed to lose the weight i desired and went on holiday to Italy with an attitude that i will relax about food and eat/drink what i want. To Eat or Not?
I am trying to find a sustainable and healthy maintenance diet and maybe gain a little bit of muscle, but I'm definitely not going for an all out bulk, just lifting heavy, gaining strength and getting protein in. So today my family had a brunch celebration from like 12:30-4. I couldn't wait to eat the brunch at 12:30 so I…

I have been working on my weight loss for about 3 months now, I still have aways to go. I will be traveling all of next month consisting of mostly cross-country road trips. I will have many days of 12-15 hours of driving. I am not concerned with continuing my weight loss during my travels, just maintaining until I get…

weight gain after a binge?
this was a "planned binge" for fun, which I hadn't done in 3 months, so its not a reason to worry about a binge eating problem. anyway, the few other time that I had done this, my weight would go up about 2-4 pounds the next day. but this time there seems to be a day delay, because I gained 2.5 pounds the second day after…

Did you go up in weight when increasing cals?
Hey everyone, I'm still in my weight loss phase but getting very close to my goal weight. At some point, I would like to reduce my work outs from 6x/week to 5, and of course increase calories slowly. I'm eating 1500 calories daily and as soon as I eat more than that for one day, I gain 1-2 pounds (mostly water weight). I'm…

How to increase my calories to maintenance?
OK so I've decided that I don't eat enough. I've been maintaining on 1400 calories a day for a few months and I exercise at least 6 days a week alternating between sprints/long distance running and heavy lifting/strength training. I've just calculated my BMR and it was 1320 a day and then that x 1.7 (for exercising 6-7…

Impossible to not gain your weight back ?!
I use to weigh 145 and now I weigh 120. I am 5'6.5. I have weighed between 145-150 throughout all of high school and first year University. Over the past year I have lost about 25-30 pounds and I think I look much better. However, I think my 145 pound weight is the weight that my body is "suppose" to be at. At that weight,…

Maintenance Mindset
I've reached my goal weight, I'm satisfied with my body and theoretically, I should up my calories for maintenance. However, I'm currently eating ~1500 kcal/day and maintenance would be at >2000 (active job, during the week) or around 1750 (sedentary, weekend). This seems so MUCH, I can't even imagine eating that amount…

Putting logging on pause.
I like changing things up to keep from getting bored so here is my latest. I think I am pretty well trained now in my new lifestyle and really haven't had any problems maintaining my weight for the last two months. I am going to stop logging for the next week and see how it goes. Anybody else try this?

Drinking Tea Really Helps
Recently, I've been eating and drinking healthier to help maintain my weight. I've been drinking lots of green tea as they boost your metabolism and such, and I really can feel a difference. Or maybe it's just my obsession speaking lo. Also, I've recently been introduced to tartary buckwheat tea and love it. It has a bunch…

Making the Transitions
Since January I've lost 28 pounds (I started at 178). I'm 5'3" and my original goal weight is to be ROUGHLY around 140 (although I'm currently pleased with myself at 150 I know I could stand to lose another 5-10 pounds but I'm not super stressed about it). For the past month or so my weight loss has slowed down a bunch and…

weight a minute
How often do most people weigh themselves. My plan is to keep weighing once myself every 5 weeks (made easier because I don't own a set of scales) because I'm hoping that the less I weigh myself, then the less chance I have of looking at something that can disappoint me. I'm looking for peoples view point on this. Whether…
