Gifted a fitbit! Calorie question...
So, I just opened my brand new fitbit that was just unexpectedly given to me! Feeling so shocked and blessed! My question is, should I change my maintenance calories to account for my fitbit adjustment? I'm currently set to lightly active and I sync any formal exercise via Runkeeper. Should I reset myself to sedentary and…

Why do posters keep saying g in a serving
Hi, can anyone tell me how to convert a "g" that is given when talking portion sizes? I need a cup or half cup etc and sometimes someone will have that measurement for that particular food as well, but more often than not it is a "g" for what I am looking for. Thanks for the help.

this feels like a lot of food...
I just switched from weight loss to maintenance. 1670 calories a day if I am sedimentary, and logging activity separately for lifting and walking and sports, which is anywhere from nothing to 500 more calories a day, but this feels like a lot of volume. I'm a little scarred of this, not gonna lie. Anyone else feel freaked…

Feeling pretty down about my weight... advice needed
Hi there, I've recently put on 1-2kg, I've been working out 4 times a week, burning around 650 cals and then doing an 30-40 minutes of weight training. My clothes still fit and I know muscle is heavier than fat but 1-2 kg seems a lot to put on from weight training? I don't like seeing the number on the scales in the…

Maintenance enquiries
1) do you actually weigh your bread? I'm actually weighing my bread because it says it's 142calories every 2 slices which is 70g. Should I actually weigh my breads? Or should I just grab 2 slices? I will normally weigh 70g of my bread and also weigh my peanut butter. Or should I weigh my bread but it weighs more than 70g I…

Help me critique my plan to escape skinny fatness!
I've been dieting and doing cardio for a little over a week now and after doing some reading, I've realized that that's not the route I should take to get the body I want (at least I don't think). I'm interested in looking muscular, but not bulky. Maybe "skinny muscular" would be the right term. By dieting and doing…

Scale Fluctuation vs. Weight Gain
I am moving back into maintaining and per a nutritionist I upped calories by 300 this week. Otherwise, I have eaten the same as I have been before. However, today I weighed in .5 heavier than on monday. Clearly, this is nothing to be concerned over; however, I am just wondering in advanced when I should determine that I am…

How do you learn to not be guilty?
I started trying to lose a bit of weight (total of 7 kilos) about 2 months ago. I have lost 4, ideally I would like to lose 3 more kilos, but I am also more than happy where I am now and for sure have no reason to lose fast. My mind tells me I should be at this point at a very small deficiency, closer to maintenance. I was…

Do you still log calories and exercise?
I've been yo-yo dieting for years. I never took maintenance seriously before. This time, I am tracking my calories and exercise, which I also never did before. Doesn't logging your calories and exercise get tiresome after awhile? I can't imagine doing this my whole life, but I don't want to gain the weight back, either. I…

I'm back! I'm back! Oh glory be, I'm back!
I'm back in my skinny jeans and at my original goal weight. Though I'm tweaking my goal downward because I can still grab fat off my hips a camel prepping to cross a vast desert would covet. But still, it's so nice to breathe in my jeans again. And maybe now my poor spine will quit complaining at me. No more…

Is anyone maintaining without counting calories?
I've been maintaining successfully for the past few months and it's great, but from day to day I just add up a round about of my calories, but lately it's becoming a little obsessive and unhealthy. I just want to focus on eating well, maintaining and listening to my body. I wouldn't be opposed to continuing to roughly…
