Wii Fitness
I started using my new Wii Monday and I'm having a blast with it. Does any one know if it's OK to wear shoes with it? I have bad feet and ankles and although I love doing the exercises my feet are really starting to hurt.

Discrepancy in Calories Burned
Does anybody know why there is such a large discrepancy between what a piece of exercise equipment/heart rate monitor shows for calories burned versus what is in the MFP database? I recently got a Polar HRM and the difference on my HRM and MFP is pretty drastic. For 60 minutes on MFP for cycling it shows 900+ calories…

Need help designing a workout regimen.
Hi all - for the last month, I have been doing turbo jam and turbo fire dvds. I have attempted to follow the turbo fire schedule, but I'm not sure I like it. I feel like I need some weight training in the mix, and I'm not sure if I like the HIIT concept. Should I be doing cardio every day? Shouldn't I incorporate weight…

Polar HRM Question
I just got a Polar HRM and used it for the first time today. I am trying to keep my heart rate in the fat burning mode and my HRM will show when you are in fat burning or fitness mode. I used my recumbant bike twice today. I used it this morning and the HRM showed that heart rate under 120 was fat burning mode. I used it…

Injured or aching?
Hi all, My knee is aching today - how do yo know if its an injury or just a twinge? I work out (high impact) almost every day. I also run. I'm used to working out a lot. My knee feels painful enough to put a warm wheat bag on it, but not a sharp pain. How do you know if exercise will help or hinder? Thanks, Jo xx

Fat weight vs Lean body Mass
Okay, I have this formula to help determine how much fat you are carrying in weight vs your lean body mass (muscle). I'm gonna share this method. current weight x body fat % (in decimal form) = how much fat you are carrying in pounds. I will use my stats. I weight 173, right now my body fat is at 37, so 173 x .37 = 64 # of…

Running/Cardio Music
I am in desperate need of some new music for running. I currently have about 10 high impact songs loaded on my ipod. Nickelback, Theory of a Deadman, Kesha and a couple Lady Gaga songs. Strength training burns calories too!!
As I was logging my exercise for today, I noticed that MFP did not calculate any calories burned for the strength training I did. I decided to look into this matter and found that strength training can burn from 8-10 calories/minute. I wonder why MFP does not consider strength training as a means of burning calories. Has…
