30 day shred problems
I have been doing the 30DS and am having issues with some of the exercises; mainly the complex (arms & legs) exercises. The ones that cause me the most problems are the squat and press and side lunge and arm exercises. I can follow Natalie with the squat and side lunge (getting really low), but there is no variation for…

P90X: weight loss / muscle gain
1 week and 4 days into P90X, and I am seeing zero weight loss. Partly concerned because I've had to strive for a huge increase in calories and protein and I am literally at a 2-3 week standstill. However, I think I might have some comfort -- my upper-arm measurements changed, from day 1 to day 12, by plus-3/4 inch. I was…

Calorie burn overestimated?
I am worried that I am overestimating my calorie burn. I noticed that someone RAN 56 minutes and burned 497 calories. Yesterday, I walked briskly for 55 minutes and burned 426 calories according to MFP. Seems like running would burn substantially more calories than walking. I'm afraid that the number of calories burned may…

Xbox 360 Kinect workout
As crazy as it sounds...my motivation that got me started working out (besides an upcoming trip) was using the new Kinect feature for the Xbox 360. I tried it at my kids dads house and was immediately hooked! Since your body is the remote (no holding of any remote while playing the Kinect games)...you have to really move…

HRM question
I have done the same excercise tape the past three days and have burned a different amount of calories each time according to my HRM. For each time I put in my excercise should I just go by the amount of calories burned according to the HRM? Thanks!!

Music to Sweat To
Hello All! I'm on the hunt for new music to run and sweat to! I'm getting tired of my same old play lists- Can anyone suggest any great songs? What gets you moving on a slow day? What pushes you to the end on a hard workout? I'd love to hear from everyone! I love pretty much all music, so I'm open to anything! Have a great…

calf pain
I have been training for a mini for about 2 months. At the end of my first month during my walk/run I would have horrible pain on the inside upper part of my calf in between my bone and my muscle. It hurt so bad. I thought that it was shin splints. So I rested and iced and bengayed and wrapped my leg. Nothing helped my…

30 day Shred questions
Hey guys, So I love my 4 fast miles by Leslie Sansone DVD, but I need some variety on days (like today), when I can't get to the gym. I asked for p90x for Christmas, but don't think its going to happen because it is too pricey. So I've been hearing about Jillian Michaels 30 day shred, and was wondering what were some…

Exercise with injury
I am 40 years old and having an extremly difficult time losing weight. Even after the lap band surgery i've been at a complete stand still for about 7 months. It is so frustrating! I know I NEED to exercise for many reasons, but I recently tore the meniscus in my knee. It is a large tear with fluid around it. The Dr. said…

exercise calories decreasing?
Has anyone else noticed the calories burned for the same exercise going down over time? For example - I bike every day, and used to burn 186 calories in 30 minutes. Now I only burn 178 for the same thing. Does MFP adjust if you do an exercise for a long time, or is it because my weight is dropping? Any insight would be…

Hi everyone I need a little help. I first would like to say I DON'T like my scale, I usually don't use it just a mirror and measuring tape. Exercising in 1-2 minute intervals
Hi all, I work from home in a sedentary job ie basically on my butt looking at a computer screen all day. I was trying to think of ways to increase my daily activity over and above my scheduled exercise which I am currently doing 3 days per week. As of tomorrow I am going to start setting my alarm to go off every 30 mins…
