I was assuming they detect sweat and body temp along with heart rate? Im thinking of getting one, just wanted to know what any ones thoughts were on what they may have tried.…

Snowshoeing
I am trying to maintain an active lifestyle even though it's winter so yesterday I tried snowshoeing. It's very easy to strap on the contraptions and I decided to use my walking poles instead of buying ski poles. So far, so good. Next was to determine where I would "shoe" and that decision was fairly easy, too. We have a…

Post workout supplement / nutrition?
Hello Friends! I hit the gym pretty hard with 2-3 days a week of strength training and 2-3 of cardio and take 1-2 days off a week. In the beginning I saw large gains in tone and muscle gain, but lately I feel that this has slowed down. Also, my body often feels weak and depleted. I am eating all my exercise calories. I am…

how accurate is everyone finding the calories burned?
Couple of days ago I did a few songs on just dance 2 to get me started and I went to tot it up on here and it said that for 25 minutes I would have burned over 200 calories! I didn't believe this for one minute so I put that I did 15 minutes instead, which still came up as over 130. I was just wondering if people have…

Sportline Duo 1010
Hey Guys, I just purchased a Sportline Duo 1010, with chest strap HRM, it was on sale and I got a steal of a deal. Just wondering if anyone knows how accurate the calories burn counter is. I haven't had a chance to do a long workout with it yet, but the calorie counter seems a bit high based on the little workout I did do.…

How accurate?
The ellipticals at my gym have you enter your weight and height and they also have heart monitors on the handlebars so is it safe to assume that the estimated calorie burn is pretty accurate? Also, I've been thinking about getting a heart monitor with a chest strap. I want one that is pretty accurate but also not very…

Remember You Can Break Up Your Exercise Time
I have read a lot of people who are really discouraged they won't have enough time in the day to do a full 30 minutes of exercise. Keep in mind that you DON'T have to do it all at once. If you can get in a 10 minute walk to the mailbox and back with your child in a stroller, walk a grocery store for 10min (not sampling…

Where to start??
Hey everyone! Here's my question: where do I begin with exercising?! I know being active in general is going to do me a lot of greatness. Example of Accuracy of MFP Exercise Calories
I thought I'd share this with you, but I do so with the caveat that it is one example and the lesson may not be directly accurate for others at different weights and fitness levels and with different activities. I own and use a Garmin 310XT HR watch which is the only one (to my knowledge) that doesn't use an algorhythm to…

Lower weight, higher reps
I'm doing leg extensions, abductor and seat row. Currently, most of them I'm doing 60lbs. I'm doing 6 sets of 15 reps. Or is it the other way around? 15 reps and 6 sets. Is this correct? I'm trying to lose weight right now not gain muscle on top of fat.
