Best Exercise today!
Today, my daughter, my sister-in-law and I are walking 3 miles for the March of Babies. It's no great distance, but it's going to be the best exercise I've ever done - even in the pouring rain. I've raised $731 for the walk (my goal was 1000). I walk in honor of my daughter, a happy and healthy 9 month old, born at 28…

high reps low weight vs. low reps high weight
I know everyone has heard that high reps low weight adds definition to your muscles and low reps high weight adds mass, but how exactly? I've heard (only once) that its actually a myth and that any forms of weight training builds mass only.

I'm 242 lbs of chewed bubble gum...there is NO WAY I can do
Insanity and P90X. I'm scared of them...but everyone is swearing by them. I'm afraid it would be too overwhelming for me right now. Is this something best saved for when I've built up a little more endurance...(ahem...lost a little more weight)?

Weight Training and Weight Loss
I recently added weight training to my weight loss regime. So recent in fact that I couldn't get out of bed this morning without a spring loaded launcher. Every muscle in my body aches. I can do cardio for days on end so this is all new to me. My question that I pose to you on the boards is when does the hurt end and does…

How do you do it?
I often read posts from people who burn anywhere from 600-1000 (and more) calories per day when they exercise. How do you do that? Are you doing cardio for 1 1/2 to 2 hours a day? Or is whatever exercise you are doing really intense? Even in an hour I can only burn about 350 or so calories at a moderately intense pace. I…

Very simple, but very effective calf exercise
I'll be the first to admit, I was never big on working out my calf muscles. I figured with all the step, biking and running I did, why the heck bother? Then came competition day, I placed second and was told because I had undefined calf muscles. Now I thought they looked just dandy, but I was wrong, I never did weight work…

Funny little ways to add exercise into your day
I had to heat something up in the microwave and while I waited I skipped for 10 minutes! That's 108 calories burned. Best trail running shoes
Hi all, I'm needing some new shoes for walking and eventually running. Our neighborhood has a rocky walking trail so I need shoes that will grip and keep me stable on uneven ground.
