Running with a friend
I'm very new to running. Right now I spend an hour as follows: walk 2 songs to warmup, run 1 mile, walk 1 song, run 1 mile, walk 1 song, run 1 mile, walk 3 songs to cool down. So it ends up with 3 miles running and about 2 miles walking. The only thing that stops me from running further than a mile before the walk break is…

Power 90?
I have been exercising on my own but some guidance would be nice so I was thinking I'd give this a shot. My husband doesn't think I have the willpower to crawl out of bed at 6AM to get it done before kids are awake, I plan to prove him wrong. However that's beside the point. I was just wondering how on earth I'd enter this…

Belly Jelly, how do I get rid of it????
So the good news is I've lost 25lbs and several inches. The challenge is my waist is still out of proportion with the rest of my body. I only want to lose a few more pounds, but I would really like to lose 4 inches in my midsection. Does anyone have any ideas?? What works, I'll put the time and effort in, especially…

What are plank moves???
:blushing: I hate to admit this, but I have no idea what plank moves are. Earlier I was given some consistent advice to incorporate plank moves into my workout routine to help get rid of my belly jelly. The only problem is I don't know what they are. Does anyone know a link to find suggestions and instructions on plank…

Wii Free Step? I dunno...
Don't get me wrong...I ADORE my Wii Fit...and will soon be purchasing EA Sports Active....but... The Wii Fit FreeStep seems like a joke to me. I mean, I did it for 30 min Monday. I worked up a sweat, and it got my legs going...but I'm not sure that's a good workout...my heart rate didn't increase all that much? The…

Turbo Jam
Hello everyone!! I was wondering which categories the Turbo Jam workouts go under. For example: 20 min Turbo Jam, Turbo Sculpt (40 min), Cardio Party (40 min), Ab Jam (40 min), and Punch, kick, and Jab. I have been entering them in as aerobics (high impact) and circuit training. I was just wondering if I was on target with…

Heart Rate Monitor calorie count
I just tried my new heart rate monitor today. It is a Polar F6 with a strap. I'm so glad to finally have one, but I'm disappointed in the machines at our gym. I knew the calories burned would not be the same, but I didn't expect to have the machines over 100 calories off! :noway: I've read that machines are usually…

Does anyone add weights to exercise routine as they lose wei
As we lose weight, if we do exactly the same exercise as before, it won't affect our calories as much. So it seems that I should either add weights (to make my body think it's heavier) or exercise longer. Just wondering if anyone else changed their routines because they had lost weight...

Is sore-ness the only indicator of an effective workout?
I'm noticing that even though I've increased my reps, my sets and my weights, I'm not sore the day after what I thought was an intense workout. My muscles still shake and I still have to pause and re-group in the middle of my sets but the next day I hardly feel like I worked out at all? You too?

Pedometer
I've really been wanting to get a good Pedometer so I can track my steps daily. I have searched hundreds of Amazon reviews, and the one that's the best, still has alot of bad reviews too. Elliptical question
When I use the elliptical at the Y, the setup is: choose a program (I usually choose #5, glutes), enter your age, enter your weight, how long you want to do it, and then you start. It never asks me about what intensity level or how hard I want to work. But I read other people's posts about elliptical levels, like "Today I…

For anyone wanting to learn about Zumba
For those of you that don't know, the woman I work for also owns a dance school. Zumba is her specialist area and she runs classes of 200+ 15 times a week in North London. I'm not trying to promote her just sharing the background on why I'm posting this. I've seen quite a few people start to ask questions about Zumba in…

What is your gym workout?
So I have been on the weight loss journey before-when it went well I would typically go to aerobic classes at the gym. My new gym doesn't offer that (changing is not an option) . So I now go to the gym and just do cardio. I was curious about other gym workouts. What do you do? For how long and at what speed? Like right now…
