Still sore?
I did some pretty intense workouts on Saturday and Sunday, which made it very difficult to sit down yesterday and today. I'm still very sore. Is it a bad idea to do my normal workout today?

How do you calculate calories burned for ab exercises?
I always do at least 20-30 minutes worth of ab exercises after my treadmill and workout but I don't know how to calculate the calories that I burn from those? Any suggestions?

NOT working out = Weight Loss?? Or Does the Scale Lie?
Hello everyone! Something strange happened to me this past weekend....This entire weekend I wasn't able to workout like usual. We were out of town at a family thing. So no working out Friday, Saturday, OR Sunday. Which usually I try to work out 6-7 days a week. Anyway, on Friday I weighed 145 and then yesterday I weighed…

IT band problems!
Hi all! I'm currently in the middle of training for a marathon, and I hurt my IT band in mid-January. Right at the 12 mile training mark! These last couple of months have been painful, but I am learning to deal with the pain. But I am also trying to fix the problem as best as I can. I have started a strength training…

Workout routine questions
I know that you should change up your workout routine. But how often? When I first starting going to the gym I only did the elliptical for an hour. Now I change my hour of cardio between the elliptical, bike, treadmill, and running. I do run 3 miles everyday because I'm going to do a 5K in May. And, that ususally takes me…

Week Two of P90X
I'm in week two of P90X. I'm doing the "lean" version because I'm so out of shape and weak. I still can't totally do everything they do in the video or totally keep up, but I do the absolute best that I can and hope fully one day I'll be able to! I can't even tell you how great I feel. I don't think I've ever exercised…

Workouts: Biggest Loser vs. P90X
I have a friend who got the P90X, spent a hundred dollars or so, and today it is sitting on his living room shelf, used only ONE TIME. I told him I would buy it from him, until at Christmas time, when I received the Biggest Loser Boot Camp as a gift (subtle hint from my family).... he he! I really enjoy the Biggest Loser…

How many calories are burned at different weights?
If I did a 30 minute workout video when I was 300 lbs and was still doing the same video when I was 160 lbs, would my calorie burn be lower at the lower weight, and if so, do you know if MFP calculates a difference in burn for different weights? I just wonder if I need to find a more accurate count for what's being burned…

5K tips?
I have been doing C25K, and I am running my first 5K race this coming Saturday morning. This will be my first time doing anything like this, so I wondered if any of the experienced runners on here had any tips for me for dealing with an actual race day? The thing I am most concerned about is maintaining my pace - I am…

Jump!
A little backstory: I had knee surgery 3 years ago. One of my kneecaps had this nasty habit of dislocating on occasion. Truly painful. So, I had a damaged ligament replaced. Fast forward three years, I'm still working on getting strength back in my left leg (not that it was every truly there to begin with). I'm also trying…

darn it - i pulled my calf muscle
I could feel it coming on and tried to run it off. Big mistake. Now I can barely walk on it. Any tips for a speedy recovery? I'm training for a 1/2 marathon and don't want to fall too far behind. Nice way to start out my 47th birthday, don't ya think? My husband couldn't help but throw out old jokes this morning!

Opinions..
Okay. Usually when I work out on the cross trainer for 30 minutes the machine says that I burn OVER 400 calories. Like 420ish. I do not have an HRM and I read on here before that those machines are like set up for a 210 male or something. So I'm going to log in that I burn 300 calories in my excersise diary...does that…

Need help with IPOD Nano pedometer
Hi, I recently got an IPOD Nano and it has a pedometer included. I am having trouble with keeping it going...when I walk with it and check to see how much I have done it seems to reset it. I do have the daily total but it would be nice to be able to see a particular hike in total. Also, how accurate are these? And, are we…

Elliptical vs. the Treadmill?
I have just joined a gym and go 3 days a week. The elliptical is kicking my butt. Don't laugh but I am on level 1 and can only do it for 5 minutes.....then I feel as if I am going to die. I try to keep it at 120 like they said ( don't know if this is steps per minute) The trainer had me set at 7 min on the elliptical and…

Does anyone else just HATE workout videos?
I bought the 30-Day Shred, and I just can't stick to it. I think I much prefer going to the gym. Any advice on how to actually stick to a video? Or is this wishful thinking? I've heard great things about Shred, but I just can't get motivated to stick to it!

Question about EA Sports Active resistance band
Hello! I have been using the EA Sports Active Personal Trainer game for the Wii as part of my workout efforts since the beginning of the year. Somewhere towards the end of finishing my first 30 day challenge, the resistance band (that came with the program) broke. I went out to Target and bought a new resistance band (one…

What is YOUR favorite 30 minute exercise?
I thought it might be helpful for those of us who are new or somewhat new if people could share some of what their favorite, highest calorie, strength building, fat busing exercises might be. It's easy to see with a fairly reasonable glance that Jillian's 30 Day Shred is one and running is another common workout of choice.…
