Question about taking measurements...
This may be silly but I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to take my measurements. 1. Where do I measure for my waist? Some sites say a half inch above the belly button, others say the smallest part and the Dr. OZ show tells you to suck in and measure at the belly button. What does everyone do? 2. Also, I know…

ok, I'm wondering...
My schedule is beyond crazy (i could tell you but you wouldn't believe me) and it's entirely possible that i miss a day or two a week of working out which totally bums me. I know, (thanks Boss!) that i shouldn't double up my weights workout, just start back on the next day. But on the cardio side of things, is it a bad…

BMI for Asians
Is the BMI scale really accurate for all ethnicities? I'm an Asian female, 5'1", and about 95 lbs, and I've been told to gain weight, that my BMI is too low, etc., etc. But I read that when Kristi Yamaguchi was a competitive figure skater, she was 93 lbs and did squats with 203 lbs. Suddenly I don't feel so bad. Does…

I Don't know where to start...
So exercising is definitely my weakness. I have no idea where to start. Also, I have a tight budget so I do not have access to a gym, which makes it even harder to figure out what to do.:grumble: If anyone has any suggestions on good exercises and/or how often I should do them I'm all ears.

cardio vs strength
I have a question about the exercise posting that you can do here (I'm a newbie here). Why doesn't the strength training tell you calories burned? What is the point of putting anything there if it doesn't do calories? Does it have another use? When I add exercise to it, does that mean I need to post it under my cardio…

Early morning exercise
I have been working out 5 days a week at 5:00 am. I normally do not eat before heading out to the gym - is this a good thing? I am feeling ok to get through my work out but I can tell I am hungry by the time I get home. Is it best to work out on an empty stomach or should I be eating beforehand? If so, what should I eat?

Making The Cut - Jillian Michaels
I started Jillian's "Making The Cut" 30 day program on February 1st (after finishing the 30 Day Shred), and I'm loving it! Toning Workouts ?
I have lost almost 20 pounds which was my beginning goal. I think that I have lost enough weight, however I would like to still lose some inches in target areas (mid-section) and would like to tone up my body. What are some good exercise DVD's or programs that focus on toning alone?

The Cost of Exercise: $$$
The economy here in the US is pretty bad. Like a lot of people, I just found out I'll have to take a pay cut in order to keep my job. The cut is really steep, barely enough to live on. I'm going to have to scale back to keep my apartment. (I live in New York City. Rent is insane. Enough said.) I know a lot of MFP-ers have…

Elliptical vs Treadmill
I normally run on the treadmill; however, I got a cramp in my side last night so switched to the elliptical. I feel that I work much harder on the treadmill, and get a better workout; but according to the machine, I burnt more calories on the elliptical. Are these machines not really that accurate, or could that be true?
