Exercise for music lovers.
This might come in handy for anyone that exercises at home and loves music. My main means of exercise consists of jogging in place on a mini trampoline. I bought it at Wal-Mart for $35 and it has a step and calorie counter on it. I don't take the burned calories as gospel but I figure it's a good ballpark figure. Anyway, I…

This is a quote from the University of Illinois McKinley Health Center web site: "Your body utilizes three sources of energy; carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. They are utilized in that order. Fat is the last energy source your body uses and this doesn't occur until after 90 minutes of exercise. By exercising at a greater…

Which should come first cardio or strength
This is from the Fitness Magazine>> The answer is: It depends on your goal "If you're trying to lose weight, you should do cardio first," "Burn the most calories by doing your run or Spinning class as hard as you can, then use whatever you've got left for strength training." If your main goal is to tone, do the opposite.…

Workout Videos
So I bought my first workout videos today. I take a hip hop group class in the basement of my dorm, and it's a ton of fun. Weights first ... cardio second
Weights first ... cardio second Do you lift weights and do cardio in the same session? If at all possible, try to break 'em up to different sessions. But if you're busy like most folks, perhaps you find yourself having to do weights and cardio at the same time. Here's a mistake that many people make: they do cardio and…

do I need a HRM?
I work out at a gym with equipment that monitors my heart rate & tells me how many calories I burn, I use a recumbent bike that does the same. The only other workout I usually do is brisk walking or a workout video. Do I really need a HRM? Or would a pedometer that tells calories burned be just as good for someone like me?…

Are You Sabotaging Your Workout?
Are You Sabotaging Your Workout? By: Allison Ford People say that the hardest part of any workout routine is finding the motivation to exercise, but I respectfully beg to differ.
