HRM issues
Okay, so I was at the gym today and working my behind off (hopefully literally!) on the elliptical. My gym has the ellipticals pretty close together and you are kind of on top of everyone else there. I usually pick the one on the end, because I don't like staring at a blank TV screen and I know the second one doesn't…

Good morning! On the way out the door to my spin class, but just had to report in that the scales finally moved in the right direction!! Exercise calories???
I just looked over my goal page. I see that it lists my lifestyle as burning 2000 calories a day, but I am supposed to only eat 1200. This is a deficit of 800 calories, which should allow me to lose 2 pounds a week. That's great, but I exercised for 30 minutes today and burned off an extra 421. Should I eat those calories?…

Dance Dance Revolution
Something for the kids to try, or an ambitious adult - Dance Dance Revolution. The game is available for Xbox, Xbox 360, Playstation 1 and 2 (no 3 yet i dont think), the Wii, and you can get Stepmania for the computer for free, you just need a converter for the game pad to attach it to a USB port. The game also requires a…

So....what do you do?
Hi there, I've been going to the gym for about a week now, and I'm not really sure what all to do lol I've been starting off on the treadmill for 20 minutes (at a speed of 3.2-3.5 for the majority of the time), then the recumbent bike for another 20 minutes, and then the elliptical for 15 minutes. I'm gradually going to up…

I have one stone to lose and am looking to build up my general level of fitness and stamina. Getting fit is more of a goal for me than losing weight as I am not particularly overweight, just very unfit! I have started doing the elliptical cross trainer for 20 mins at a time at levels 1 and 2, which I wil do about 4 days a…

The French really don't get fat...but I'm not French!
Alright, I'm living in France and it's true from what you have heard: French people are skinny and don't generally workout. And because of this, there is limited access to a gym. I live in a city of around 70,000 people, but I couldn't tell you where one gym is. It's frustrating, because back home I would go to a gym for…

Jillian Michaels just kicked my *kitten*!!
Finally got the 30 Day Shred for Christmas, and OMG!!! :noway: My legs were sweating for crying out loud....I don't sweat that much in a class triple the length of that video and that was only on level 1 (day 1). I'm sure it'll seem easier in a week from now, but I can barely walk up the stairs right now...everything feels…

So I did the rowing machine yesterday for 15 minutes and then did about 30 squats, my legs are killing me today.. I really worked some muscles I haven't felt in a long time. If your out of shape (like I am) and would like a cardio workout that's intense but short, try this DVD. In 10 minutes I burned 93 calories, according to my Polar. Pedal Pusher vs. Pedal Spinner
I am so so sorry if this topic has already been covered! I tried to read as many past posts as I could and stopped when my eyes started crossing! Will this help burn fat?
Every day, I'm going to do this Gold's Gym Stayball DVD. I like doing the DVD, but I don't feel a lot of pain while doing it and it's considered as strength training. Am I going to lose any weight by this? It's winter time, so I don't have a lot of choices for exercise and I want something that will easily fit into my…
