HRM High zone vs Moderate
Okay I have been using my Polar F6 for over a week now. It has been set at moderate. I find myself above most of the time. So I changed it yesterday to high. My question is- Is it better to be in moderate when wanting to lose the weight or in High. Even when I feel I can do more. When trying to stay in zone for the…

Holy S#!t: Discrepancy between HRM and MFP calories burned
I had been logging my Slim in 6 workouts as circuit training, and MFP said that I burned over 500 calories. I wore my HRM today to do the Ramp it Up! workout and it said I only burned 215.:noway: :noway: I was eating most of those phantom calories that MFP was giving me! That's probably why my weight loss has stalled…

I am working out 6 days a week for 45 minutes a day, and on my 2 days off a week, I work out almost 2 hours a day. I am asking because initially when I started all this, the weight was just…

S.B.F. Challenge. . . January 4
Morning! Today is bikram, as I finally feel full power enough for it. I also have my first voice student in three years; (finally broke down and hung up my shingle, as I started to miss teaching privately) I'm actually a bit nervous about it. . .which is why I'm awake at such an early hour. I also need to clean the house…

How can I figure out my calories burned with my workout?
I have a BowFlex, and LOVE IT! But, this site as well as Sparkpeople.com allows me to log my exercise, but doesn't tell me how many calories I am burning. I don't expect it to be accurate, but at least a close low ball number would be great. Does anyone know how I might be able to figure it out? :ohwell: Thanks so much for…

My 2009 cycling goal...dare I post it??
My cycling goal for the year of 2009 is to ride my bike 2000 miles. That is a little less than 40 miles a week. During the spring and summer I ride double+ that so I will pick up any slack from cold months. I am resetting my Trek computer today and hopefully by December's end I will have met my goal. Wish me luck!

It's going to be 80 degrees today, so it should be a perfect time to check out the…

800 Calories in 55 minutes...
I work out on the elliptical/treadmill for somewhere between 30 minutes and an hour. I just bought a simple Timex heart rate monitor. It has told me in my last two workouts that I have been burning around 800 calories. Is this possible? I can't believe how much the machines underestimate my calories even when I have…
