I've found a good 5k that I could run. I timed myself for a mile (with a stroller) and did well. I jog for 45-60 minutes, usually with a stroller. How do I know when I'm ready?

I have run all my life. Now I am trying to limber up and have been doing yoga for several years. It has helped some, but my glutes and hams are just relentlessly tight (I think, from the running). Anyone else dealt with this? Any advice?

question for runners
this may not be a running problem but .....I just started jogging on the treadmill. I can't do much yet so i alternate with walking. I have gotten blisters on the bottom of my toes-just on my left foot. Anybody else experience this? I'm not sure if it could be my shoes or socks? i'd appreciate any ideas. Thanks!!
