MFP Runner's Club - August 13
Good morning runners! I had a speed workout this morning. It went like this: 1 mile warm-up 2 800s w/ a jog break in between 4 100s w/ a small jog break in between 1.5 mile cool down I REALLY did not want to get up this morning and run, but it makes finishing the workout that much sweeter. :) Have a fabulous day!

New goals
I was reading a post earlier, when someone mentioned finding a new goal once they hit their goal weight, possibly finding a 5k to run. I hope I'm not offending anyone by sharing my opinion here. If you have a Susan Komen "Race for the Cure" in your city, please do it. Too many sisters (and believe it or not, brothers) are…

3 weeks in and........a little discouraged
:ohwell: 3 weeks completed in p90x and I just took some pictures and I'm a bit disappointed that I don't see any significant changes. I know it's only 3 weeks, but my clothes fit more loosely. Measurements are relatively unchanged since pre p90x. Energy level better and I'm definitely stronger, but I'm a little discouraged…

HRMs and Calorie Count Things
Hi, I'm looking at these calorie counting things on trademe (ebay), I see that you can get them quite cheap. Are these quality? I'm not looking at the ones going for a few bucks but ones for less than NZ$40. What should I look for? Can I trust a cheap one? Are they worth the money? Thanks :flowerforyou:

Resting Heart Rate Question-
What is a 'good' resting heart rate? Is it a higher number ( 70) or a lower number (40)? I was under the impression that a higher resting heart rate was good, becuase you were burning more calories just resting, but then I read somewhere that professional athletes have something like a 40 resting heart rate... Can anyone…

Hot, hot, hot!
Yes, the weather -- biking home in 100 degree heat after a day is a tad warm... but I'm talking about internal. I feel hot (temperature) in a good way, like my metabolism is revving along in high speed. It's about a week after I kicked up the exercise a notch. I'm bubbling with energy and feel warmer from the inside. I've…
