I don't often post so I apologize if this question has already come up. I had knee surgery three weeks ago and for the moment can no longer run or do tae bo or anything that is too high impact on my knees. I got myself a stationary bike as the doctor said this would be good for my rehab. My question is about the calories…

Gained 2 pound?
Ok.. I'm bummed. I started out at 150 pounds. I'm 55. I've been alternating days of 30 minutes of vigorous rebounding with days of 45 minutes of yoga and weights. I've been eating about 1200 calories, except yesterday, when I ate around 1400. Today, a week after starting, I weighed my self and I have GAINED 2 pounds?!!!…

Rebounding
A few people have emailed me asking about rebounding. Rebounding is done on a mini trampoline. However, you need to be careful and not buy a cheap version or you won't stick to it. There's a HUGE difference between a $39 rebounder (which is a toy) and spending $200 on a piece of exercise equipment that will last your…

Dizziness...
Hey everyone... Just wanted to get some of your thoughts/opinions on this! Recently (over the past year) when I exercise, more often than not I get really dizzy after or during exercise. This used to never happen, and I was exercising MUCH harder and more frequently then. Now, sometimes even after only 10 minutes of…

At least I got some exercise... and adventure!
Well, a few folks posted comments when I said i didn't want to exercise... One even gave me a crybaby face! So, last week the car had a flat. I live almost exactly a mile from my job as the crow flies, but more like a mile and a half by the road. I had to take a cab to work, because time was of the essence, but decided to…

Feeling out of place at the Gym
At times, I just can't help but to feel out of place at the gym I go to. I am usually one of the biggest people there and I always feel like I stick out like a sore thumb. Most of the women wear sport bras / spandex shorts :noway: and I come out of the locker room wearing long exercise pants and a t -shirt. Today, I was on…

Weight Training
I do cardio and weight training every time I visit the gym at least 4-5 x's a week. Since muscle weighs more than fat, would your weight go down when stepping on the scale, or do you just measure by how clothes fit?

another great article on tracking your progress
Those who know me know I don't value the scale's numbers very much. Here is a GREAT site that can help you choose other ways of measuring success! http://www.thedietchannel.com/Weight-Loss-vs-Fat-Loss.htm

playing piano as exercise?
Have you noticed in the cardio section it lists playing piano as exercise? I'm a music teacher, I play piano on and off all day long. I'm not supposed to count up those minutes am I? If piano playing was really exercise I don't think I'd look the way I do!

"presciption"
One teacher at school was talking about her doctor appointment the other day. She said that the Dr. had a presciption that would lower her blood pressure, reduce osteporsis, help her lose weight, give her more engergy, etc... The Dr. asked her if she would like a prescription for it and of course she said yes- who wouldn't…

I've been exercising like mad (running about 4 miles a day, 4 days a week), eating way healthier and cutting calories for about three weeks now.......and I haven't lost one blessed pound. What gives? So discouraging. I know I have to keep at it, but I thought for sure I'd see something change on the scale by now. What's a…

Coming back from an illness or injury.
So, I caught the respiratory infection that was going around and I missed over a week at the gym. I'm feeling better (but still not 100%) so I decided to go back to the gym today.
