Treadmills
So I was just thinking that I might get a treadmill for days that I'd rather stay inside (watching TV) rather than walk outside. I'm thinking very simple, manual - nothing fancy at all. Does anyone have one that they've had luck with and could recommend?

how many calories burned?
I work in retail and im sure I burn calories climbing up ladders and walking around putting clothes away and folding them. I was wondering how I could find out how many calories I burn for about 5 hours of work. Thanks

Can you put your stamp of approval on this?
Ok, let me get this correct for the last, last time. If I continue to reach my caloric score every day I will lose a pound per week (or what have you)? Now, if I workout ... I get extra calories to eat (to conpensate the burning of them)??? Why, does it not work like this .... I eat my caloric score precisely & help burn…

Being Picky
Questions: 1. When calculating time worked during a video do you: A. count the entire running time of the video - say aerobics 45 mins B. count only the active part of video for aerobics 35 mins, and 10 mins stretch 2. When doing weights, how should you feel when you are finished? I feel like I can't pick up my gym bag…

Personal Training
So, I have oppurtunity to get a personal trainer for about $45 a session. But, I would have to drive 1/2 an hour away (into Maryland!) to get to him. Is it worth it? I have never had a personal trainer before, but I really need to step up my workouts... Has anyone had great success with a P/T??

I LOVE yoga!!
I have been going three times a week on top of my regular work out routines and I just have to say that I LOVE IT! I work muscles that have not seen the light of day in years and while I don't like pain there is something to be said for a sore muscle due to a good work out! The girl who leads yoga at my gym does a great…

Try This, IT WORKS
I have just purchased a large 65 inch stability ball to sit on while I'm at work instead of my chair. I sat on it all day yesterday, and today when I woke up, I could feel it in my butt and my legs. I never thought that what you sit on makes that big of a difference. At first it was wired, but I already love it. It also…

Ok, this is probably lame but....
Have you ever just impressed yourself with what you have just accomplished that you tear up? I just had the best workout I have had in months on the treadmill, I broke my all time record (may not be impressive to some) of 4.5 miles in an hour and today I did 5.5 miles in 59 minutes and I was cooling down and got so proud…

1-Minute Metabolism Booster
The easiest 350 calories you'll ever burn: Exercise is obviously important, but regular daily activity known as "NEAT" (nonexercise activity thermogenesis) is equally essential for a healthy metabolism. Small movements such as stretching your legs, taking the stairs, even just standing to talk on the phone can add up to an…

Billy about killed me
Okay so I am a little frustrated. Not too much just a little. Three weeks ago I was wokring out 75 minutes a day. Then I got the flu and had no energy for two weeks. Then I went on vacation where I walked miles and miles everyday. I thought that would help me get my strength back. The only problem is that I didn't eat much…

Probably a dumb question
Well my thighs are really big and I was wondering. . . if I am biking, won't my leg muscles be getting so much exercise that the fat converts into muscle? Is that possible? I want to get down to a size four and I don't want my thighs to stay this size!!

Strength Training vs. Burning Calories
I am brand new to this - my husband's co-worker lost 15 pounds since January 8 just using this website so I am excited about the help it's hopefully going to offer me. Maybe I am entering things wrong, but last night I entered my strength training exercises and it doesn't seem to reflect any calories burned. Is this true?

I'm proud and had to share.....
I play kinda competitive soccer (I'm competitive anyway  ) and I thought I would try going for a run/jog last night in hopes to improve my endurance. Turns out I did way better than I thought I would!!!! I am extremely excited and proud (shocked too!) to tell ya'll that I did pretty good and jogged about 5K with very…

Hi guys, I'm feeling really encouraged this morning after measuring myself - I've dropped 3 inches around the waist and one inch around the chest and hips! I'm so pleased about losing inches around the waist, as this is the part I'm trying to target! I know that you have to lose fat everywhere and it's difficult…

Easter Fitness Challenge 2/20

Today is a lighter day. . . 20-30 minutes of commuter walking (depending on how in a hurry I am) with my backpack on. 30 minutes of yoga (although I might pop in a longer tape if I'm feeling perky.) Sore from my upper body class, especially in my abs. I…

Cool Scale
I just saw a scale on Tv that measures your Fat, muscle mass and body mass index along with your weight and shows how hydrated you are. don't know if it's any good but I thought it was worth mentioning and looking into. I saw it on QVC and it was under 60 bucks. If interested go to QVC.com and the name of the scale is the…

I'm in sooo much trouble
Boy do I need help. Most of my exercise consists of jump rope. It burns an incredible amount of calories and is very high impact, which I need to keep the calcium from leeching out of my bones. Here's the problem: I did something awful to my ankle. But I can't afford to stop the jump rope. I don't like anything as much and…
