Getting reaquinted with my juicer
I've had the Jake LaLane Juicer for 2 years now and haven't used it in awhile. Today I felt like grapefruit juice so I busted out the machine! I juiced a whole grapefruit and was on a roll so I added some strawberries too. Then I started feeling inspirational and decided instead of heavy pasta for lunch I'll have a spinach…

Nutritional Information
I've been buying a lot of fish from Sam's Club recently to help get my protein levels up. The fish that I seem to gravitate around is Treasures of the Sea - Boneless, Skinless Flounder. The thing is, the nutritional information says 4oz is a serving. I assumed this was weight per fillet, as, frozen they are basically 4oz…

salmon
I'm not a fish eater, but I just read an article on MSN listing salmon as one of seven foods every woman must eat, and the picture looked pretty darn good. So maybe I'll try it.....question is, how do you buy it? Does it come packaged up in the meat section (seriously, I've never bought fish except tuna in a can). Is it…

Breyers Low-Carb Ice Cream
I tried this the other day - chocolate covered ice cream on a stick. Ugh the artificial sugar in them gave me a massive headache and stomache. I had to try them a couple of times to make sure the ice cream was the culprit. If you are sensitive to artificial sweetners STAY AWAY.

Don't fear FAT!!
Hey guys!! I wanted to post this to possibly help those new to the weight-loss thing. So many of us get caught up in the "low-fat" idea and deprive ourselves. I used to make that mistake myself. The day I started to think about the term "essential fatty acids" is the day my life and my confidence in doing this forever…

sodium conversion question
I'm trying to keep track of my sodium in take on this site. I find this very difficult to do as a lot of the foods I am entering don't seem to have much sodium in them even though I know that there should be loads. My question is - when people enter foods are they entering the sodium in grams or milligrams? This site…

Freezing food
I am NOT a morning person! Its awful. So needless to say waking up early just to cook probably isn't going to happen. I was wondering if I scrambled eggs, wrapped them in a whole wheat tortilla with salsa, and then froze it inside foil if that would keep well. What do y'all think? I'm challenging myself to eat only fresh,…

Sesame Oil
We always hear about olive oil being the best oil and whatnot ... but I have some sesame oil and was wondering if that ranked up there with the other healthy fats. I know sesame is pretty good for you if you're not allergic. Does anyone know anything about sesame oil?

Using saved calories?
When I was on weight watchers, we were given saved "extra calories" to use sometime in the week. I'm wondering if that works here? For example, I'm really good the week before, and the first part of this week. But the second part, I spend with friends, and when you're not at home making and weighing your own food, there's…

Cooking Spray
I know that cooking spray is one of those foods that is "calorie free" but has calories. The nutrition label says a 1/4 second spray has 0 calories. I went to the Pam's Cooking Spray website and it's confusing:noway: - I *think* it says that a 1 second spray has 7 calories, but I'm not sure. Anyone ever looked into this…

100 calorie creme brulee
ok so its actually 104 calories but 100 cal sounds so much snazzier. Here's another one from the hungry girl cookbook and it turned out great. I wouldn't go comparing it to restaurant quality because you can only cut so much fat and calories out of something before you notice a difference in taste. But if you want a nice…
