Is it ok to treat yourself once a week?
I have a TREMENDOUS sweet tooth! I knew when I started this site that I would have to be accountable for everything I put in my mouth, so I decided to cut way back on my sugar intake. I have eliminated sweet tea from my diet since it is empty calories. I have gone from eating dessert every night to treating myself to an…

Some Days are harder then most!!!!
Today I woke up and exercised not the way I planned but I didnt sleep in like I wanted to. Well then I weigh myself to see the scale has gone up (181.4 tp 181.8). Not a huge increase but daunting all the same. I logg onto mfp and saw a post that helped me feel better. Maybe im retaining water or something silly no reason…

Questions, Questions, Questions

I dont get much sleep a night due to school and work(5-7 hours a night.) Wondering if I should raise my calories up or leave them where they are at? I notice my…

CONFUSED about earning calories through exercise
I currently do not log my exercise because then the calorie counter says I can eat that many more calories above my normal total. That confuses me because if I work so hard to lose those calories why would I turn around and put them back in my body? It would make sense to me if I was trying to maintain my weight but I am…

Normal to drop 2lbs every 2 days?
Hi Guys, So I started the MFP program on the 30th of August and since that date I have been dropping 2lbs every 2 days. I am afraid that it might be too much too fast. That would come out to 28lbs in a month. I doubt that I can keep that up or that it would even happen but so far it's like clockwork. Every 2 days 2 lbs. i…

Afraid that I am not getting enough Protein(Custom Goals Iss
That my Nutritional goals are way off. I know I need carbs like I need protein but why is my carb intake almost double what my protein is? I am trying to avoid losing any muscle I have and possibly build muscle while losing weight but I says I only need 40-50grams of protein a day and I have been told to substainmuscle…

Depressed about injury/upcoming surgery...
This is half a rant and half me asking for advice... Back in May I was injured at work, I had apparently developed a baker's cyst at work and it ruptured. I work in a factory on my feet all day long lifting parts, pivoting, etc so this was obviously a debilitating problem. I remained at work though; my knee and leg would…

100lbs lost and STUCK!
I've lost 100lbs and can't get beyond that for the life of me! My calories range from 1100-1500 a day. I change it up every now and then so my body doesn't get used to it. I walk/jog EVERYDAY 4 miles. And then typically do strength training exercises as well. Who else that has lost such a large amount is having/had trouble…

Inches lost vs dress sizes
I'd like to know if anyone knows what is the correlation between inches and womens sizes? Like if I lost an inch off my waist and 2 inches off my hips, is that one dress size down or not? Are there any figures for this type of thing. Heck I don't even know how many pounds you have to lose to go down a size.

Core Rhythums Latin Dance Exercise
Hi, Has Anyone tried Core Rhythums Dance Exercise Video's. I bought this set a few years ago. Every now and again I get it out and try it. It seems really really fun, but its very hard. I can only manage about 10 min before I'm too pooped to do anymore. Does anyone else have this problem. And I'm always so concerned about…

Less weight / More Struggles
Why does it seem that the less weight you have to lose the harder it gets? When I weighed 236lbs it seemed that the weight just "fell off". Now I feel that I am fighting for each pound. I have a mere 16 lbs to lose. Not that much really, but wow! It can be a little mentally and physically draining coming up with new ideas,…

tattoos & weightloss
Just curious here... I have two tattoos and I'm a little scared they will shrink when I lose all my weight (about 85 lbs total). I know if you have a tattoo on your stomach and become pregnant that it will distort your ink and stretch it out and it will never look the same. Is the same thing (reversed) true for weight…

What to watch
I hate only having room to track 5 nutrients. I don't want to track them all but wondering what I should be tracking. I don't have any medical reasons to track anything specifically. . . just for general better health and weight loss. Currently I have carbs, fat, sugar, fiber and protein. Sugar is always off but MFP…

Question about Eating
Hi everyone! I am so excited about this lifestyle change I am embarking on but I do have a quick question. I know because I am working out harder right now, I should be eating enough calories so my body doesn't go into starvation mode but should I eat a snack if I am not hungry? I am confused about this one. Today I ate a…

Is this a good idea?
So far in nearly 2 weeks, I've lost 5 lbs. Not as much as I'd like to, but I suppose it's a start. This is just from dieting alone, no additional exercise. When the weight loss hits a plateau, I then plan to really exercise in order to get over that hump. I'd done the diets + exercise out of the gate before, you loose 10…

6 Week challenge. Anyone want to join me?
Hi all. I need some extra motivation, and would love to help others get motivated. I'd like to set some challenges for myself in the next 6 weeks, and wondered if anyone else would be on board with this. For me it's a 12 lb loss, being able to increase my weight training, and add some more cardio. Also to eat a bit better,…

I'm new... Love MyFitnessPal
Not trying to lose or gain any weight -- just improve my overall eating habits and maintain my present weight while firming up. I have to watch my sugar intake and notice that the iPod app has sugar grams but the PC version does not seem to track this? But I just love using Myfitnesspal. I've told so many people about it…
